With the dividers open, so it's just one big stall. I have a 3 horse and I'm wondering if this would be safe? Just while I'm sleeping so I know he couldn't go anywhere. I haven't been able to get a corral now and I'm a little worried tying out with just one horse... Any ideas/experiences?

I have done it. I took out one of the dividers and he was fine.  I slept better as well.

Same here.   If it is an 8' wide with no mangers.  divders shouldnt be a problem. Just make sure they have room to get up if they lay down

I did it all the time in high school when we had a 4 horse with no mangers. It was 7.5 wide and made a really nice stall. The times I have done it since, we had LQ and felt Every. Single. Movement. Horse was happy tho. LOL

I have done this a bunch. He should be fine I just tie the water bucket tight and give them their food and they are fine. I have a 4 horse trailer and left two in the trailer that way and they are fine.

A couple winters ago we had a TERRIBLE ice storm. We only had pasture with no runins so we blanketed heavily and even with the thick blankets they had about a 1/2 crust of ice over their whole body, it was wild. Anyways this went on for three days and every night I pulled their blankets and the three colts went in the lq trailer with dividers and the older horses when in the stock trailer with the slam divider. Two buddies in front, two in back. I hung buckets and hay bags and let them out each day. They were happy as warm little clams and had no problem standing in their all night. Draft horses lived in tie stalls for centuries only getting out to work so I'm sure your guy will be fine in the trailer for one night :)

Okay, I know this may be a duh answer but when you leave one in the trailer are they loose? I would assume not because they might get stuck turning around, right? So you would tie them up and put a water bucket and hay bag in the manger and close the divider as if hauling?

I would rather tie them out, this way they can move around and stretch their legs and spread their legs to go pee.
Now if I was sleeping overnite on the side of a road are parking lot then they would stay in the trailer.

I have real concerns about leaving a bucket tied in the trailer.  Granddaughters went to youth rodeo that lasted all night.  They tied the horses to trailer with a water bucket tied to the trailer to catch a couple of hours sleep before coming home.  In 2 hours, the barrel horse had a wound the size of your hand on his neck and we think that it might have been the bucket. He was off for a month trying to get his neck gap closed enough to ride him.  For a couple of hours, he could have done without water.

Any time we hauled to an overnight event I left my mare in the trailer. Never had any issues with it.

Ive also done this no problems on more than on occasion. I honestly think it was better than tying out or getting a stall.
