Location: California | I have been looking into getting one of those fitness trackers that you wear on your wrist and it tracks steps, calories burned, sleep, etc. I have a few friends that have the Fitbit Flex and they seem to like them. Just looking around online at them, I see that there are others available and some seem to be a little cheaper, but still do the same thing.
Do any of you use a fitness tracker? What brand is yours? Likes? Dislikes? |

| I just bought a used Garmin Vivio Fit off of Facebook. I went with a this one because I have a Garmin gps watch that I use for running, so this will sync to the same app. So far, I love it! It's very motivating to see how many (or how few) steps I'm actually taking each day. It uses a watch battery, so I don't have to charge it.
I was able to get mine for $70 - it came with 4 colored wristbands and a heart rate monitor, plus shipping was included. |

Location: The South | I have a fitbit flex and I like it so far. The biggest flaw I've found is the clasp isn't very good. It comes unsnapped very easily which is stupid because then you'll lose the whole thing if you don't see it fall off! So I got these things called 'bit belts' off Amazon that go over the clasp so it'll stay on. And whatever you do, don't buy replacement bands from China! The one time I don't read reviews on Amazon before I buy something...they cause a skin rash. |

 Own It and Move On
Location: The edge of no where | I have the fitbit that comes with a clip...keep in mind I've only had it since Christmas...but I really like it! They aren't waterproof, so I'm pretty sure I would destroy any of the wrist options. I keep this one clipped on my bra during the day. Set up the app so that it's synced with my iphone. It's a great way to be a bit more conscious about all your decisions throughout the day to meet your goals. You do have to set bigger goals if you leave it on while you ride. It's nice to know how far I'm actually taking my horses as well. I can glance at it when I get on and make sure we do at least 3 miles. |

Huffington Post had an article on these-- can't remember which brand but it was THE top selling and newest one. The journalist also got a severe rash and that was brand new! |

Location: Ohio | I have a Fitbit flex. I have had it for a year. I really like it. I wear it religiously. It does make me push myself a little harder to meet my daily goals.
I have not had any issues with the clasp. The biggest thing I have found is that I have to get it in the charger just right for it to charge. This started to happen after I had it about nine months. I think I need to clean the contacts.
They are water resistant. I wear mine in the shower but not in the tub or the pool.
There is a new one coming out with a heart rate monitor in it. I would like to upgrade to that one. |

Location: MS | I have the Fibit Flex and like it but I do wish it had a heart rate monitor. I agree that the "clasp" isn't that great and you could probably lose it pretty easily. I take my off when I ride. If I had it to do again I would probably get the clip on one instead of the armband. |

| I have had my fit bit one for over a year, lost 34 pounds using that and lose it program which works with the fit bit but you do have to have the premium for it to count your calories. Will tell you how many calorie you have left for the day. I had the 500 calorie reduction a day. I thought it was well worth money. Need to get back on this.

Location: Nebraska | I have a polar. I just got it for Christmas and haven't worn it much, but it has been eye opening, especially tracking my sleep. I knew I wasn't a good sleeper but last night my sleep was only 76% restful! I wanted one with a watch so that I could use it when I was working. The only thing I didn't like about it was setting it up. The wristband comes so big and you have to cut it to fit your wrist and then adjust the clasp accordingly. It was tricky and I was afraid of measuring wrong, but it worked! I read somewhere that the company will replace the band if you cut too much off but I'm not sure how true that is. |

Location: California | I got the Garmin Vivofit for Christmas. I've really enjoyed it so far as I am goal-oriented. I'm a teacher and am home this week. Today was extremely windy and cold, so I didn't want to spend too much time outside. Instead, I had to go to town to the bank and then after walked around Target for awhile, just so I could meet my goal. I didn't even buy anything, just toured the store I also like the sleep tracker and find it very interesting. My husband is a firefighter and has a hard time sleeping since his sleep is so disrupted when he's at work, either by calls or just the radio noise that's constantly chattering all night. It's been interesting to compare his sleep patterns at home vs. at work (he's had his since his birthday at the beginning of December so we've had almost a month to compare data). I also like that the Garmin doesn't need to be charged and has a watch. I do wish it had a stop button though because you have to take it off when you ride or else you get credit for a crazy number of steps! |
