Big Dees Tack has them for about $76 per boot. Stateline Tack and Valley Vet are priced the same at about $79; all of them have free shipping in the States. I too wonder about the quality, but for the price a person could certainly try them out. I want them for hauling and standing on hard surfaces and have heard they are VERY similar to Soft Rides. |

No, the insert looks different to me as well. It looks like Soft Rides have a "raised' frog support insert, versus just a wedge type insert on the Cloud. I thought I would ask my farrier his thoughts on both inserts before I order. I certainly don't want to do more harm than good, but the pricing of the Clouds has me super interested. For what I want would the frog support be a big deal?? Would the wedge type insert be enough?? |

I have the exact same questions! haha! I don't need them for therapy, just for long trailer rides (I don't like to use shavings) and stalling on concrete! |

| As for the inserts, this is my thought process.
A horse who has no issues shouldn't need frog support, as the foot will expand and contract allowing the from to extend and retract in the foot to maintain blood supply. As this is the sole reason for the frog.
A horse with laminitis, needs sole support as if a horse is walking on their sole and not the hoof wall, it takes the pressure off of the lamania and potentially will prevent or stop founder (there are 250$ pads to go in shoes for this main reason), this is where the frog support may be beneficial in the soft rides as the horse will be walking on more of the sole.
I know a few people who have actually cut the frog piece out of the soft rides upon recommendation of their vet.

| Bump... Just doing some searching, has anyone tried these yet?? Really debating between the easyboot clouds and softrides...these don't look very breathable but I haven't seen them in person |

Location: Ellensburg, Washington | I have the Clouds and so far really like them. They are SUPER lightweight! I compare them to the difference between running shoes and cowboy boots. They are really easy to put on the foot and stay put really well. I have a gelding that paws and he didn't move his at all. The insert reminds me of a stiffer anti fatigue mat that people use. When I put them on there is no hoof print and when I get to where I am going there is a perfect imprint of my horses hoof but still plenty cushioned. I have both the Soft Rides and the Clouds and don't really have a preference either way but I am only using them for comfort not necessarily therapy. When my Soft Rides wear completely out I will probably just buy another pair of Clouds. |

Location: In my own little world | I've had the softrides wear out when used for therapy. The backs of them will get worn. And they were the proper fit as well. I took them in to the local leather shop and they replaced the canvas (or whatever the material is) with leather so it will wear better. |

Awesome! How do they compare as far a breathability? The clouds seem to cover a lot more of the pastern vs the softrides..kind of makes me think they would get hot in the summer.
