We have had tornados all over E TX this evening. I abandoned ship and went a neighbor's. Thankfully that tornado went about 8 miles north of us. Others around here have not been so lucky. My trainer's husband had to go to a neighbor's house to help with her horses and he had to shoot one. The rest are OK but could not be brought in because of downed power lines. I think there was some damage to her house also. I have not been able to get in touch with some of my other barrel Racing friends to see if they were OK. May have to wait till morning. Please keep these people in your prayers. I know they are devastated from the loss of their horse. This is a very rural area and the houses are not close together like in town. Tornados can hit one house and then not touch another information a mile.

Scary. I stayed in Oklahoma for just this reason today rather than come back to work in the morning. They'll just have to do without me. I'm glad you're okay. Stay safe!

I am a few hours south of Dallas and we have been huddled in the house waiting on weather reports.  So sad to see the devastation.   Prayers to those that have been hit.  I've gone to the barn several times today, put the horses up, and checking on them.  The older horses were happy to get in their stalls and munch hay.  The two 'teenagers' just acted stupid inside and ended up getting put back out.  :(

Here is an update on the lady that lost the horse. Her son's house was destroyed and there was damage to hers. Also truck, trailer, and tractor were destroyed. I think all of them were uninjured. I will say that my community was very lucky. I have checked with most of my other horsey friends and all are OK. Please remember these people in your prayers.

We are okay a little west and north of Marshall. Tons of rain, lots of high winds, but house, horses, family and friends okay! Is your friend close to Woodlawn where a tornado touched down? I have a cousin who lives that way that had part of the roof blown off of their house, but they were all okay. Prayers for everyone who was affected!

Yes they actually live in Woodlawn. I thought they lived more toward Hallsville. Someone had set up a GOFUNDME account within a few hours. At least they are all OK. Everything else can be replaced.

It is so sad to see all of the devastation from the tornados and floods.  My heart goes out to all affected.  We are about 30 miles east of Rowlett.  We were very lucky that those terrible storms missed us.  I hope everyone stays safe.  I won't complain about all of the rain we have received, as I know it could have been so much worse!
