Location: Iowa | We had goldfish in our horse tank for several years. Left them there in the winter time and everything. Really enjoyed having them. Except it seemed like our tank was dirtier with them in it. Finally relocated them to a friend's pond. Miss having them! |

Location: SW MO | We have 1000 gallon water tanks, so we got them to help keep them clean. They are cleaner now then they were when we first put them in. They have really grown & are neat. We went to the bait store and got ours. They are a lot bigger & heartier than the pet store kind |

Location: Kentucky | For those who have them...... Do you keep a filter or let the water circulate some how or are they just in there? |

Location: Missouri | My parents have done this for years and it works great for them. They can go longer between cleaning the tanks than I can...I've been meaning to do this myself for a while. |

| this may be a dumb question but do you put fish food in the tank to feed the fish and if so, it's not harmful for the horses. I have heard too that in the Winter if you use a heater, they'll survive all Winter too....

My mares rinse their mouth after they get done eating and my fish eat the grain they drop when they rinse :) I believe they also eat mosquito larvae |

| I have huge concrete tanks that are full of goldfish. I don't feed them, lots of babies all the time and the adults are getting big. |
