bal is about 200 in my area. It collects a sample for a cytology checking inflammation, infection or red blood cells for eiph.

I think I paid around $300 to confirm COPD, does not tell you what the allergens are, just that it is coming from his lungs. Mine is not a bleeder.

I honestly don't remember, it's been about 5 years since I had one done. And my horse had the works done when he had his BAL (multiple scopes, lung x-rays, was prescribed all sorts of medicine) so his vet bill was around $1,200, and I'm not sure what the BAL alone was. But I wouldn't hesitate to get another one. If your horse is having a coughing problem this will let you know where its coming from and what it is.

$250, about 4 days ago. Did not give me a "definitive" on what's going on but definitely what's not going on. IE: lower airway has no inflammation, no blood, no abnormal cells and is clear of mucous. Definitely worth it.

Careful how you get your estimate. My very the Bal runs $150... But!! The scope to do the wash is another $150 or so, so be sure your getting quote on full thing.
