Β Call the vet, could be many things. Lack of colostrum, rotavirus, samonella, c-dif---many things. Call the vet and get ahead of it !!!!!

Agreed!

In the meantime, check temperature and make sure the foal isn't running a fever.

Could be good old fashioned scours.  Call the vet.  These babies go down hill fast and can get dehydrated fast.

VET NOW!!!

This is the advice I got on here 8 years ago and I am glad I took it.  My 2 day old babay was septic.  She would have died if I would not have taken immediate vet action.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Vet was contacted last night and he suggested to keep a close eye on her for the remainder of the day today and contact him this afternoon. He stated as long as she’s alert, nursing, active, and no fever to just watch and make sure she doesn’t stop nursing or become lethargic. I’ll update again later this afternoon.

Checking in for a good update hopefully

Diarrhea has stopped and her stool has hardened so there’s improvement! Still continues to have high energy levels and nurses regularly. No signs of fever or dehydration so hopefully we’re headed in the right direction!
