If you were given the chance to buy a daughter of judge cash (out of a daughter of easy jet and some kind of man) that was a proven producer would you buy her? BUT look at it from a standpoint as if this was the first broodmare you have ever bought.

I had one loved her, have one baby from her, now she is a wrangler high school rodeo horse, she was too young to keep breeding.

Yep - gotta start somewhere, why not start with a good one? What a great first broodmare, already proven you just have to reap the rewards.

I love the idea of it. I have always wanted my own broody, but then I think about all the things that can go wrong and that makes me think otherwise. My main reason for buying her would be to raise my own prospect becuase what I want I can't find and I think I will have to breed for it. But that is a long time to wait. Wouldn't even be able to ride the foal till 2018.... hate to pass up on this mare but its alot to think about...

Sounds like a nice enough mare. BUT you might not get what you want if you breed her. Seems like the majority of JC horses aren't very big.

Yep, most judge cash horses are not that big but this mare just so happens to be 16 hands lol. The bad thing though is this mare is going to be 19 yrs this year.

If she's that old is she breeding sound?  Is she open right now or in foal? Those are the questions I look at. I have only 1 broodmare and its my favorite mare that I used to run barrels on that is  no longer sound.  I prefer to buy my horses just because I only like riding mares and I want to pick out what I want.  BUT since my favorite mare can't run anymore and I loved running her I'm hoping to get a foal that has its mom's attributes.  I have anxiety attacks, I worry, I fret and stew.  The last time she had it 2 weeks early when I was gone to a rodeo.  I know she did it on purpose.

She could still have a baby that ends up 14.3!  LOL  You just never know how the genetics are going to play out in the foal.  When was the last time she had a foal?

My broodmare is 19 this year, breeding her to a Perlino. (She has been a broodmare all her life, so I have great confidence in her)

If she was offered to me, she was breeding sound & the price was right yes I'd want her. But I'm probably an odball as I enjoy taking care of my other 2 aged broodies. And I love the babies, watching them grow up & all the years of their early training before they start competing.
