I have a Smooth Bug/ Whammy Cat mare that I may have a opportunity to breed to The Signature (frozen semen)
What do you think?

I have no idea about that cross. But, how close up is the Whammy Cat? I've always heard good things about the Whammy Cats.

I have a daughter of The Signature and love her. She has a speed index of 101, was a G3 qualifier, and has produced stakes placers and qualifiers. She is a gentle giant. I would love to have another daughter, and I'm super jealous that you might get to breed to him!

I also have a granddaughter on the top side that is by Vital Sign that is a money earner at the track and a granddaughter on the bottom side that has produced race ROM earners.

I kind of fell into this line, wasn't specifically out looking for mares bred this way, but I sure am glad I've got them.

All I can say is: Go for it!! To be able to breed to The Signature himself. . . plus your mare sounds like she'd be an awesome cross. Keep us updated!!

If the signature breeding doesn't work out I'll breed to his son Sign of Royalty
Which is next best thing right?! ;) lol
I just wanted to know before I put tons of effort into this deal, and end up with a not so great horse.

What other lines would you suggest for my mare she's short but leggy and more slender built. I do not like firewater or sun frost horses.

If your looking for a foal with speed and the looks to go with, I would make the effort. I have a grand daughter of his and she has more speed than she knows what to do with and that is just playing around and real easy to work with. I don't think you will be disappointed with the cross. Both horse have speed breeding and good temperment. The Signature is a very large horse. Friends of mine call that an under statement.

If there IS frozen semen from The Signature, I wonder why his last AQHA registered offspring were foaled in 2001?

I asked around and he died in '02 and frozen semen on deceased stallions wasn't allowed until '03.
