That's a good way of answering. Puts it in perspective. Thanks!!
Or here's another question (for everyone):
Did you spend more on shopping, or dining/hotel/transport? |

| I go to shop, 2 years ago I bought a saddle, last year I spent probably around 1000 on support boots, cinches, clothing, headstall breast collar set, halters. I don't buy much through the year, I wait for the NFR
I make a list of the items I want then go shopping
Food depends on where you are eating but budget 30/day per person
I get a rental car much cheaper then a taxi |

Location: Where I am happiest | $1000 for shopping and start every morning at NRS shopping at MGM Grand. They have alot of great deals there and super give-aways for the first so many in the door's in the morning, and more give-aways for spending $100 or more at different booths. We got some super nice jackets, travel bags, ect. there. |

| I went for the first time last year. I think I spent about $5-600 on shopping, but I knew I wanted a pair of boots, so I planned for that expense until I found the pair I wanted. Food/taxis/misc averaged about $50 per day, there were 3 of us who alternated paying for a taxi. If I remember right, I spent about $1500 total when I factored in all expenses. |

Location: PNW | I would say this is so person-dependent!! Lol a boxed answer is impossible!!!
Food: are you a gourmet foodie? Or are you just happy having food in your belly? (My husband and I are foodies and LOVE to eat - so we budget in QUITE a bit of our funds for food)
Shopping: are you looking for something specific? Price it out. (I'm an impulse buyer, I never know what I'm going to buy lol (Dave Ramsey would scold me so hard on that) - so I just give my self a budget of x-dollars and once it is gone, it is gone (see, all better Dave).)
Hotel: are you wanting to stay in the heart of the action? Budget more. Are you wanting somewhere with spa offerings? Budget more, and look online at their prices. (We like a nice hotel, but by no means need the Ritz. We tend to spend way more on food than on our hotel. Especially since you're basically never in it unless you're sleeping.)
Transport: depends where you stay whether or not you need to rent. Some hotels have shuttles, a lot is walkable. (I like to rent a car just for the sake of independence in a 'just in case' situation)
Extras: gambling? Souvenirs? Oh-my-GAWD-I-have-to-have-it-right-NOW purchases? Emergency money?
Biggest advice: DONT TAKE ALL YOUR CASH WITH YOU EVERYWHERE. There's probably a safe in your hotel room - use it. God forbid you lose your wallet or purse and you are up schmidt creek with no paddle and a leak in your boat. Have an idea how much you'll need per outing before your next return to your room and only take what you need. I learned this lesson in Seattle one time, it was so awesome.not. |

Location: God's country...aka TEXAS | I don't think the words "budget" and "NFR shopping" go together in the same sentence....LOL I try this every year to only spend a certain amount...and it NEVER works!!! Usually end up spending around $4000 on shopping. I always seem to find something else that I NEED!!!! hahaha |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I just booked my flight. I was going to wait and see if I could get better rates but I was happy with the $320.00 roundtrip from San Antonio to Las Vegas so one last thing to worry about. |

See I cant eat for $50 a day out there unless I am using coupons and chasing deals. |
