Mine is on the SmartPak mare supplement and it's helping.  I'm trying this and training through it before taking more drastic measures with estrus suppression medication.  She was breaking out in major Stupid every time she came in, but we have moderated to minor stupid and getting her tired will bring her brain back to earth.

I always start with an ultrasound to make sure we know exactly what is going on reproductively. Sometimes it takes a couple during different stages of their cycle. Then you can treat/manage according to what you find. Regumate has worked best for me. I tried an injectible but couldn't get consistent results.

This ^^^^. Your mare might have anovulatory follicles that cause lots of pain and if that's the case - none of those herbal mixes are going to do anything to help that. There are so many possiblities. If your mare doesn't have a caslicks, you should probably have that done as well.

We have a mare boarding with us that gets stupid hot, to the point of being fairly unrideable, during her cycles. Mare Magic has brought her (mostly) back into focus.

My mare has terrible heat cycles (you can't ride her when she's in heat, she's just dumb). She had a complete reproductive exam and they found nothing abnormal at all, so she is on mare magic and I take her to a vet that injects around her ovaries and that helps an AMAZING amount. She was on regumate for a while but that's a pain to give, not to mention expensive

Animal Element has a new product available to everyone for mares. It is an excellent product for nasty mares with nasty attitudes

Mare-aculous is a progressive formula designed to assist "Those" mares into becoming "That" amazing mare. The mare you knew she could become. This formula is extremely FAST acting with changes in as little as a week.
Mare-aculous assist with regulating the reproductive system

Ditto to the above.

If you give regumate beware that you MUST give it at the exact same time every day. Most people can not keep this schedule. We sure can't so we use the injection form and have had success with it. Heres some info about it: http://www.betpharm.com/downloads/WEB_Evaluation_of_Bi37EAF2.pdf

You need to be working closely with a vet to make sure you know where she is at in her cycle and it the meds are actually helping/working properly. This is like "birth control" for mares. Things need to be given at the same time and not every med is going to work for every mare.

Caslick should be done as well IMO

Also to everyone using mare magic you can buy raspberry leaves at high quality for like $11 bucks for 1.5lbs which is wayyyyyy cheaper than mare magic and it is also the only ingredient in mare magic. Most of those herbal mixes can be bought much cheaper online when you get the human consumption version because like everything else when you slap the "equine" label on it they jack up the price.

Why would she need a caslicks?
