Can anyone compare and contrast for me?

I have one saddle with funky fenders that aren't turning well and they really bug my bad knee.

I rode last weekend in a friends Kroes feet and liked them, found a used pair on FB and bought them, but didn't realize they were 3". So I may have a new pair of stirrups for my rope saddle, we'll see. After riding the Kroes Feet i could even feel a twinge in my knee in my saddle that has well turned fenders.

I need to do something but Kroes Feet is 6-8 weeks out.

Are the twisted walls stirrups pretty close? They look like they should be...

I've never tried the Kroes stirrups, but the twisted and slanted stirrups are great for my old lady knees and hips-especially with those hard to turn fenders on my rope saddle-much more comfortable.

Check into Fast N Forward Stirrups. I have heard a lot of great things about them.

Thanks, I'm looking specifically for something with a twist though.

The "neck" of the fender on this saddle where the fender narrows and goes around the stirrup is set in the middle of the fender instead of to the front. Where one to the front eventually molds and wraps around your leg and turns, since this one lays more under my leg it's not turning. It's strange and something I'll think to look at on future saddles.

The slant on the stirrup isn't so much the issue, as the ones I have are slanted, I just need more twist to them to compensate for the funky tender. Stirrups want to slide forward on the outside of my foot and pull my toes in, which is what torques my knee.

I LOVE my Kroes Feet stirrups! They are beyond with the money to me. I tend to loose stirrups around the barrels (my mare is pretty rough to ride) and I haven't lost a stirrup since switching to Kroes Feet. I also have pretty bad back issues that have caused muscle weakening through my entire body and compromises my balance. Of course it won't stop my back pain, but I no longer have the knee pain I used to get from riding too long!

The Nettles Halfbreed or Barrelracer stirrups with the Nettles leveler would be exactly what you are looking for. The downside...they aren't cheap.

Yes, that is exactly what I would recommend (thanks NTO!).  I am going to get some w/the Leveler myself - I need all the help I can get w/these decrepit knees!

Teskey's has Walls stirrups on their used section for $40. I buy all my Nettles from them. Maybe you could call up there and ask if they have any used Nettles. I'm sure they have levelers too.

I'm not sure the nettles leveler is what I'm after though...

I see how it would level the stirrup side to side but how does it create an actual twist in the stirrup?

I want the stirrups to hang facing forward, ready for my foot to slide in, like a well broke in turned fender. I tried putting a hamley twist in the fenders like I have on all my others but again, with the cut of the fender is didn't work well.

I have the Kroes Feet that I did get bought on it now but wussed out of riding when it started snowing (ugh). Like the way they hang just not sure if I'll like the 3" width. It looks like the twisted walls should hang the same way, just want to know before I put out $100 for them

Love my Kroes, they're a little heavy but they keep my feet in really well and don't hurt my knees! My horse actually fell on me while I was riding in them though and my feet did come out so they don't make you stuck if something was to happen :

Aside from stirrups, Would a Hamley twist help? It would help your fender issue some, I think.

If you want to twist your fenders simply sit it on a rack and spray the fenders down with water. Put a broom handle in between the stirrup leather and the fender. Let sit for 4-6 hours. Repeat until fenders stay in this position by theirself.

When you put your saddle up after a ride put the broom handle back in-between the leather and fender without spraying. You should have no problems after this. PM me for pictures if I am terrible at painting a picture in your head LOL

Know what you're saying and we've done that, both with this saddle and others. The design of this particular fender is preventing it from twisting normally. If I was better at posting pictures on here I would.

I got a pair of 2" Kroes feet bought from a friend and they have solved the issue wonderfully! Thank you all for the feedback.
