I use a wide variety of sites including lots of news sources (not just Liberal or not just Conservative) to cross reference, Fact Checker sites (and no .... not Snopes), Government sites and sources that I will not reveal .... LOL .... I do NOT believe or understand anyone using a "blogger" as a reputable site....
So a friend of mine that produces at a major news network is the first to admit the press is corrupt. I can't chat on this thread today but I promise to be back where we can continue this discussion And need to stay I am really dissapointed at the GOP member on the House Armed Forces Committee who voted yes to continue the endless war. Even the New York Times today gave Trump credit for pulling the plug on the war on AFG. Another topic to discuss! | |

Norma .... so being that this is a proxy war other countries have been using the Taliban to kill since the start. These groups get their direction from Iran whom according to the State Department is the largest state sponsor of terror in the world. The same Iran that was awarded billions by Biden/Obama. So pick your poison...Biden who has already paid of terrorists or Trump whose big mouth insults people but is ending the war in AFG.
Let time tell if Trump knew or now but it since he had the troops stood down it isn't as relative as one may think.
Norma so your husband worked in the business of war and was not a combat soldier? Correct? I am greatly influenced by the war fighter. So you could say I am jaded.
No, he was just a plain ol' drafted army soldier ..... he never discussed the reason for a few "short" trips to VN from Okinawa. I always just assumed it was "supply" related. In fact, he never discussed his time in the Army ..... ever..... and I never asked!
My Uncle Don was in the Korean war as a Mechanic and he would never ever talk about it, he said he seen things that he wished that he never saw and had to do and he would leave it there. And my Great Aunt was flight nurse in Vietnam and her husband flew bomber jets {He didnt get to come home} and I can remember when I was a little girl someone would ask Aunt Gretchen about her husband Smitty and her experience being a flight nurse and all she would do was cry, so asking her anything about the war was really a no no. She would always say you had to be there to understand what I have and now going threw being in that war. It really messed her up, but she was a fighter and lived out the rest of her days working at the Military hospital in Kerrville, she was a hoot to be around when she has having a good day. I'm the lucky one in the family since I was her favorite neice she gave me some of her pins and her husbands flight pins that he engraved on the back of them to her "Always your Smitty, And I have their wedding Pictures him being in his Army Uniform, they are just beautiful, I need to get them back out and hang them up again, since we moved here I have them in storage. I was/am so proud having her as my Great Aunt.. 
I would love to see a picture of your Great Aunt! Flight Nurses are amazing! That truly was the greatest generation. I stand in awe of them.

LOL .... I have only been here off and on all of the day since it was our 55th Anniversary .... I don't believe the media is "corrupt" per se. It's just that the norm of the media has changed. The old media (of Walter Cronkite, etc) gave us the NEWS .... straight .... with no opinion attached and no "spin". Today, they (Liberal AND Conservative media) put their own spin on the news. Then, you have the people on social media sites such as FaceBook, Twitter, Blogs and even BHW, who take that little "morsel" of news and spin it to reflect their position. Additionally, in this era of technology, you have those who make it their life's mission to put out lies and falsehoods. A person really has to research to ferret out the truth and real facts. | |

| I have a question. Why do you all comment on mecon's threads ? You all know she is against president trump & america, why feed into her hate. I won't & don't. I stay away from any political posts. I am for president trump but like Gail there are some things I don't like about him but I happily put up with his tweeting because he is FOR AMERICA, HE FIGHTS FOR OUR COUNTRY & MOST OF ALL OUR VETRANS. If it wasn't for our vetrans HELLO, we would all be crusified just like hitler did to his people. Anyway, just a thought. When you see her posts just ignore her. She is out for evil that is obvious. Don't give her the satisfaction of getting everyone in a knot. Gail, PLEASE tell your son I THANK HIM for all he is doing to keep Bob & I safe. God Bless Our Country & God Bless America. Thank you Gail, I think she was amazing too, and wish sometimes I could still visit with her, when I was a little girl I did not really understand what she was all about but now that I'm a WHOLE lot older I so Appreciate her and all the soldiers past and present. Tell Jake that he and all the soldiers that they are so APPRECIATE and THANK YOU for what they are all doing for us to keep our freedom. I wish I could have told my Great Aunt Gretchen this, but I'm glad that this little girl got to love her.. Super cool about Norma and Johns 55th Anniversary, its great when we have someone for life in our lives.  Prayers for the young soldier that was killed and his family, what a lost for them and us.  | |

Because it just feels good to make my feelings known! And if my son has the guts to fight terror head on I should have the guts to stand up for my country and what I know is the truth about Afghanistan. No Trump is not perfect but who is? Ironic though that he is the one drawing down in Afghanistan and the great statesmans and diplomats Obama and Bush did nothing but settle us deeper in the trenchs of Afghanistan. | |

I don't believe the media is "corrupt" per se. It's just that the norm of the media has changed. The old media (of Walter Cronkite, etc) gave us the NEWS .... straight .... with no opinion attached and no "spin". Today, they (Liberal AND Conservative media) put their own spin on the news. Then, you have the people on social media sites such as FaceBook, Twitter, Blogs and even BHW, who take that little "morsel" of news and spin it to reflect their position. Additionally, in this era of technology, you have those who make it their life's mission to put out lies and falsehoods. A person really has to research to ferret out the truth and real facts.

Their email addresses are easily available if you google.... Due to threats, anathrax being sent in the mail, etc., snail mail takes forever to get to them as it has to go through all kinds of weird security measures, treatments, x-ray, etc. They all have faxes, too.
