I bought a new horse and my Crown C doesnt fit her the best.  It has an 8.5" gullet.  it tips down.  With some shimming it could fit her better.  However I'm not sure I am overly thrilled with how wide the Crown C feels.  I ride this saddle on another horse that it was made for so I am opting to buy a new saddle for my new horse.  This is the only pic I have of her right now.  I left her with the trainer and she is 10 hrs away.  Looking for suggestions to narrow my search both on how they fit the horse and how the feel to you as a rider and quality of the saddle.  I want something secure!!  I will contact the saddle maker for a fitting.  If you have exact details on a specific tree please share!!  Here is Jenny!  hang on pic issues

I don't anything is going to fit her as terrible as she is made.....so just send her to me, I have the perfect saddle that should fit her like a glove!  (Totally kidding about the terrible made part, of course!!!!!)  Nice mare!  I am loving my Jeff Smith cutter.  I had it made single skirted and in-skirt rigged like a barrel saddle, but you still get the deep seat and nice pocket of a cutter.  I have two of them and like how they are fitting my horses as well.  I also tried the Crown C and it wasn't for me.  Felt like I was about to kiss my horse between the ears.....no thanks!

See thats an idea i never thought of!!  Thats a nice saddle and it fits your horse great!!  Yeah I'm unsure of my crown c.  its nice, but I went from riding a Cirlce Y NBHA that killed my back.  the wider gullet fits my other mare great but I feel like i'm riding a 55 gallon barrel.  We have only been loping the pattern but I'm worried with more speed how I'm going to do.  And my new mare will be ready to actually run when she gets here in Oct.  I'm skeered!!

Oh yes I can just see the look on my husbands face now when I tell him "I'm heading to TX to ride in Herbie's saddle and picking up (insert other board names here) along the way". And he is going to ask who is Herbie and the others and you actually know them?  Then I will utter those 3 bad words BHW. At which point he will smack the palm of his hand to his forehead and say I should have know!!

if by chance I make it down in that area I will look you up!  At a minimum I'm aiming for the D&D with my new horse!

It's funny how saddles fit people differently. The crown c feels narrow-seated and doesn't hurt my hips at all--but the 8" rides better than the 9" to me and I'm not sure what's different.  The Moe Poor and Cactus saddles I've tried KILLED me with wideness in the seat.  10 minutes and I was crippled for days.  I tried sassy & tessa's Lisa Lockhart and fell in love with it--very close contact feel and I swear made for my butt, fit my horse perfectly,  but when I bought one (wide), it perched on my horse and was tight in the shoulders.  The Shiloh saddle I tried rode awesome but didn't fit my horse. He's weird tho. Medium wide flattish short back, wide loins and big shoulders--he's a race/cutting combo and his parts don't go together.

See there, livinonlove....you've already got two passengers!  I bet there's one or two from LA and a couple Texans that would come up as well!  Hubby can cook BBQ and i'll provide beverages of your choice.  Sounds fun to me!

I've ridden many, many saddles over the years and I can tell you the Shiloh Contender is without a doubt my favorite.  Stacy builds a great saddle, to your specifications, and doesn't break the bank.  Base models start at $1,350, but he told me recently his price will be going up.  Everyone I let ride in my saddle wants one - the Contender has a flair to the shoulders and has fit most every horse I've ridden in it.  I always feel in the right position when I run and it's very comfortable....I can't say enough good things about Shiloh saddles.

While I normally ride a sharon camarillo, I was able to sit in a Mary Walker a couple weeks ago, nice!  I actually JUST about bought it since my daughter stole my last camarillo.....I would say that you are needing a little narrower-right?  If so the camarillo is pretty wide as is the walker saddle from what I measured/saw.  Very pretty sorrel you have there....
