So yesterday my horse had large even dry spots on both sides as well as his spine, which means to much pressure, but does that mean I need to go with a bigger saddle? It was a Crown C on an 8 gullet. I used to ride this horse in a 7.

Try using a flexible ruler (usually about a foot long and used for sewing.) Put the middle of it just behind the whithers. You then bend it down and fit it around the horse. You then take it off and trace it to a piece of paper..The tree of the saddle should be no bigger or no smaller on either side.

By looking at the horse he still has some atrophy there, my guess is he will need a 10.

I suggest calling Martin and trying a 10 first shimmed. Also ask their opinion. They have a free saddle trial, so I would go this way so you are not buying an ill fitting saddle

I take it you didn't have any of those places dry before? Not even the spine? Did you change pads, feet done differently??

He hasnt been rode since before I had Audrey - uh like May 2013? He was legged up and had lost a bit of weight when I had him fitted for a 7 Crown C and last time I rode him he was wanting to hump up on me so I stopped riding as I was 5 months pregnant, hes gained weight and this was my friends saddle, she/I use Saddlerights, this was not shimmed.

If the horse didn't buck before the 7 gullet then I would say you had a saddle fitting problem causing him to buck.

Was he fitted by Brian and Tracy? As where the saddle is and where the Latigo is set, this is not what they suggested to me when they fitted 3 of my horses.

If you like the Martin's I suggest speaking with Brian or Tracy and send the pictures to them

yeah it was a touch to far forward, he was not fitted by Brian, but was fitted at a Martin dealer. I used to use an Ed Wright on him until he started filling out more, ordered a JP Contender on a 7" gullet from Shiloh Saddlery, by the time it was done he had put on more weight and he started bucking right away with that saddle, switched him to the Crown C in a 7 and it was like night and day difference, striding out loping nice circles etc, a few months later he tried bucking again, thats when I stopped riding him when I was 5 months pregnant.

Then I suggest calling Martin speaking with Brian and/or Tracy and have them send you whatever they suggest so you can try it out.

I have for the most part wide horses currently I am riding 3 horses in an 11 gullet, my 4 yr old i can use a 9.5 without shimming, so I need to order her a 10.

If you want to continue with Martin, I suggest try before you buy, as some say when you get to the big gullets you need a different seat size, I did this, and had to trade my original back in, and I still feel I have too big of a seat.

Also when you get to the 10 I have short legs, I have to work a little harder to make contact with my legs, a lot of people don't like this, it does take some getting used to

Your horses dry spots match mine exactly. I have a Crown C with a 7" gullet and the bars were flattened for me. My horse is screaming PAIN. They have sent me (MARTIN) a 8" gullet if I shim it it gaps up in the back without shim same thing . 7.5 same story . Why don't they just admit their saddles do not fit every horse period. This has become a nightmare for me and I am done with Martin. I am taking my horse to a tack shop soon where they have a variety of saddle's and do fittings. Good Luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you had a flat 7, did you have a flat 8?

If you didn't have a flat 8, there is no way it would fit. Crown c regular trees have way too much rock to fit a flat backed horse.

So the dry spots in the picture indicate a saddle that is too tight?
