I've decided that I would like to attend a clinic in the near future. I've been barrel racing for 15 years so I would like it to be a more advanced minded clinic. Right now it looks like I have Ed Wright, Dan and Vicki Rienhardt and Connie Combs to choose from. I have heard good things about all of them, just trying to narrow it down. My main goal in attending is to point out and hopefully find ways to fix a couple issues I am experiencing with my main barrel horse. With that in mind, I need a clinician who is good at that. Some one-on-one time is also important to me. For those of you who have attended these clinics, would you recommend them?

Search for clinic threads with the search button in the top left corner of the screen. We just had a great discussion about this last month.

I've gone through all the clinic threads...multiple times. Thanks.

I went to an Ed Wright clinic, it was the best money I ever spent! Ed will work one on one with you and your horse for as long as you need

I've ridden with Connie at least once a year for the past 7 or 8 years.  Going to another in May.  We've become great friends and she's always ready to help with anything big or small, young or old horse, green or finished.

Ed is great.....another one that has helped me tremendously is Charlotte (Cunningham) Edwards.  She's started doing a few and does an incredible job of breaking it down and making it simple.  She also rides everyone's horse to help you become a better team.

If you go to Ed make sure you take videos with you, as he will watch the videos before you do the pattern, and tell you what he sees

Thanks everyone for the replies so far. Eds clinic is on a weekend of a barrel race for me, but I may have to miss it. Any input on Dan and Vickie?

I have been to both Ed Wright and Dan and Vickie...both are great clinics, BUT hands down the best money I have EVER spent on a clinic was Ed Wright. I went into it not knowing much about him, and walked out with a whole new look at my riding, and how I approach things. The man is talented beyond belief and if I could go ride in one of his clinics once a month I'd do it. I've been training barrel horses for many years, trained some really top 1D horses, but riding with him, you realize very few in their lifetime could know or have as much of a gift as he does. I would urge you to GO! He's getting older and won't be putting on near as many clinics as he does now in the near future. It will be WELL worth your time and money.

The Reinhard's are excellent. Great at motivating you. Joseys are great also. Lynn McKenzie is great too. I do think that any that you choose will be very beneficial
