What are your experiences from buying custom tack from California Cowgirl (Christine Davi)?  Good Bad and Ugly.  Thanks.

She seems to have a lot of customers and her work looks nice.  No personal dealings though.

She hosted a Facebook fund raiser a few years back for the South Dakota blizzard. I bought a headstall from the silent auction. She contacted me when my check arrived and I got the headstall promptly. I would give her a good review based on that experience.

Glad you had good luck.  My daughter ordered a halter months ago and she's never gotten it.  She messaged Christine back and forth for over a month.  The gal said she would ship it last week Monday.  Its never arrived and she hasn't given my daughter a tracking number.  I'm not here to spew garbage I just wanted to know if anyone else has had the same trouble.  Thanks for your input.

That stinks! Sorry you are having issues. Hopefully it gets worked out. One bad review or angry person can sink an online business.

I ordered a pair of spur straps from her (they were already completed and listed for sale on a website, it wasn't a custom order that she had to make) and recieved them quickly and they were very nice.

That same day, I placed an order for two custom headstalls (total for the order was over $700). Sent her the money that day via PP, she said I should have theΒ themΒ within a couple of weeks. Then it became excuse after excuse as to why they weren't finished. She finally refunded my money over 3 months later.

Needless to say, although her work is beautiful I won't be doing business with her again.

Thankfully she did a refund. Its been too long for Emily to file with Paypal.  Today she finally got a reply back that Christine had the wrong zip code on the package and it had been returned.  Now she gave her a tracking number.  Does she think we're dumb?  Its now supposed to be here Saturday and it better be nice or we'll be ticked.  This stuff isn't cheap.  Thanks for letting me vent.  I'll keep everyone UTD this weekend.

Surprise Surprise the halter didn't show up yesterday as promised by Christine.  IMO stay clear of this lady.

Did you check the tracking number to see what the status is or if it's even valid?

^^^^^ THIS......you should be able to tell by the tracking number exactly when it was shipped and where it is at this time. That being said, I have had companies tell me that it will arrive in 5-7 days and it takes 10 days OR that it will arrive in 5-7 days and it arrives in 3.....It all depends on how it is shipped and through what terminals it has to pass through......

Kiddo has the tracking number with her.  Yesterday she said it was showing it was still in California.  I'll get the number from her in the morning.

It finally showed up but wasn't made how she asked.  It had no bling conchos, just plain Jane chicago screws holding it together and no pink or leopard print like she asked.  She's just happy she got the halter but now she'll be buying conchos for it.
