| I'm trying to go back to more basic feeding on my horses, I've heard some talk about steamed rolled oats are better than feeding whole oats. Or even crimped oats. What's your opinion? I have never fed just oats and curious the talk about this. Which is better? I would be mixing alfalfa pellets with it too. Thanks! |

Location: SW New Mexico | I HAD to simplify my feeding program for Brother Dave.
He was jittery and nervous after I started the second bag of Renew Gold..
I just took everything away.
I started with rolled oats, and he gets his Equine Natural Care Neuro, SmartPak ultra hoof.
He gets a squirt of Equine Omega Gold oil, in he morning...and that's it.
He's so much calmer, and happier.
AND winning again.

| I feed crimpled oats for years, always like the way horses looked and acted with it. I did get a probiotic with it. about a year ago I switched to total equine and my horses act the same but look so good and don't need a probiotic. But with total equine you have to feed a good hay, which I always did, and it take 2-4 weeks to see difference.
but oats are second best to it. |

| If you need to feed a grain, I have always had good results with just a little whole oats, flaxseed and good quality hay with a little stem to it.
When I fed processed feed, my horse lost it mentally and physically. I tried a lot of processed feeds and none of them worked for him. |

Location: 31 lengths farms | I feed crimped oats after not being able to find clean whole oats. Everything I had tried whole oats wise around here had dust and other questionable stuff in it, and I found that the crimped oats I could get were at least clean and dust free. Also added the flax see to the mix. |

| I feed whole oats. I have heard that crimped oats is easier digestable and wont be found in their poop like whole oats can be. Along with whole oats they are on 5 acres grass, mana pro, Seabuck7, Animal Element Detox, body builder and The True Horse Supplement(joints). I don't feed hay until the winter and they stay pretty okay body wise. |

| Crimped oats, renew gold, vitamins/minerals, alfalfa-turnout on 80 acres, stalled in the afternoon heat and bad weather. Edited too add that I feed a very small amount of oats, not so much a meal as something to add supplements too.

How do you get your horses to eat the Animal Element? Mine don't like it |
