Its too dang cold up here to stay in them but I did use mine one February at the BHSS for a few days. It got down to 17 at night. I left my grey tank open a bit so the shower water would drain right away. As for the pooper, when I got home we ran it in a heated shop to thaw and then dumped it. You could probably dump some anti freeze in the tanks too.

Veteran Posts: 166 Location: TX Panhandle	Thanks. I am planning on staying in it this weekend in Amarillo at the Christmas Cash. I sure don't want it to freeze up on me. It is supposed to be cold with extreme wind chills.

FSF - 2013-12-03 10:47 AM What about water inside when traveling....got a 12 hrs trip coming up.... do u leave gas furnace on while traveling My fresh water tanks are under my couch so it stays pretty warm in there while traveling. When I went to the BHSS I put fresh water in the tank and had my trailer sitting in a heated building so it was warm. Then I set the thermostat so it would kick in if it got too cold in there. Once I got where I was going I pumped the antifreeze out of the lines and was good to go. Before I left for home I pumped antifreeze back in the lines.

Night Watchman Posts: 5516 Location: Central Montana	We are in for several days of below zero here. We don't use our LQ in the winter, the tanks have been pumped full of antifreeze since October. If we need to go somewhere we will get a hotel room to stay overnight and have a shower. If we need a potty that won't freeze up and break our water lines we have a porta potty we can put in the first stall that has a stud wall in it.

If your worried you can put antifreeze in it during the night when it gets real cold. As a rule I don't use mine in the winter. Its just too nasty up here to even keep anything legged up unless you have an indoor so I don't worry about it.

When I got home I pumped mine with anti freeze and emptied the tanks for the winter. Up until then I had it sitting in a heated building for a few weeks of cold weather.

	LQ water tanks are so unprotected they can freeze easily and the sloshing around of water in a very cold tank can crack one big time. ... this goes for your water pipes too. I travel with gray water, fresh water and hot water tanks empty and only about 5 gallon in the black water tank. Leave all of your faucets turned on to help drain the lines so they will not burst. Also leave all of your cabinet doors open to allow heat to your water pump and plumbing etc etc ... I then refill fresh water at RV site ... never ever fill your fresh water tanks at a dump station water faucet or use your fresh water hose ... ... e coli will get ya!! ... If really cold cold cold ... just keep tanks empty and ask around if someone wants to share a motel room for showers and a warm nights sleep .... Don't forget to unhook and drain your white fresh water hose and put it inside the trailer after using it. Make sure you use the pink RV anti freeze in your gray and black water tanks and not car antifreeze. ($3 per gallon) If you use this in your fresh water tank and water lines ... do not drink the water until you have flushed it out big time and run a cup of bleach thru the system. Use bottled water for drinking. Propane furnace I do not use while running down the highway ... if you have a gas generator run it and buy you a couple of the small 1500w $20 heaters at walmart (about 6x8 inches in size) and run them. These are excellent to use when plugged into AC at a RV site. The last thing you want to happen is to run out of propane to your furnace and get air in your lines etc etc .... I use the propane furnace as a backup rather than the prime source of heat. GOOD LUCK ... hope one of these suggestions help ....................>>>>> having one big and one small sleeping bag to stick inside of each other is also a good idea ... Nut Case Expert Posts: 9305 Location: Tulsa, Ok	My trailer is usually winterized from mid December thru March. If I need to stay in it during that time frame, we just make sure it is somewhere that has bathroom facilities. If those facilities do not include showers, it is baby wipes heated in the microwave.
