| buckles, headstall/breastcollar combo, saddles (But not the really cheap leather from India with the horrible paper-thin hardware.) |

| I say stay away from tack sets due to everyone having different tastes and (for me anyways) usually end up sitting in a room or just on a random spare bit. Think of common things you use at a barrel race or see what others use a lot. Back on Track, ShooFly Boots, picture frame with buckle holders, accessories that people wear with their horses (saddle crosses over & unders) any storage for the trailer is usually good! |

| Gift certificates to a certain retailer. We do this every year here and it makes sense and people can get what they want. Last year I won my division and was awarded an $1100 gift certificate to a tack shop. I chose a saddle, made to my specifications and had the lettering added etc. Everyone who won their division got the same 1100. If you didnt want a saddle you could buy anything from that store you wanted and it included lettering. Everyone was happy! Oh, and you could take the cash to if you wanted! |

| Chairs are good. Like bag chairs or director chairs. I have 7 of these from all around awards and the bag chairs are used a lot. |

Location: WI | I won a pair of Luan's Spur Straps last year, and I use them everyday! Our district came up with a list of awards we could choose from and had us rank our choices. I thought that was a good idea - everyone gets what they want :-) |

Location: Alabama | When I did awards for our club, I offered 3 options at each prize level. People *loved* being about to choose what they wanted. Also, if they won more than 1 award, they had to pick an actual prize at the highest award level. All other prizes had the option of money. The best quality for the lowest price I found was at e-customtack |

| Everyone always says saddles saddles saddles, but when it comes down to it, they end up being sold rather than used or stashed away in their living rooms. I've had a lot of success with personalizing awards so that the person likes/uses that color or design and will actually use it verses getting all generic colors and designs.
ETA: I am looking into trying to do BOT stuff, Pop-Up tents (everyone uses those here in NC on a hot summer day!), Yeti Coolers, Muck Carts, etc. different stuff than I've given in years past.
