Looking at ordering a new triple creek. Pros/cons of a triple creek? I typically like a higher cantle, do they hold you in pretty well?

What's everyone's favorite seat for their saddles? I typically like plain ole suede, but I'm looking at gator/caiman seats now... are they kind of slick or are they easy to stay in?

Thanks!

I personally do not like Triple Creeks. I feel like they tip you forward.
As for the seat I have never ridden in anything but suede, so no help there lol

I have a martin with a smooth leather inlay. It felt slick at first, but now I really like it. No more wedgies. Lol

I wish someone around here had one that I could try, that would certainly make my choice easier! I love suede but the gator looks cool lol

Do you slide around a lot in it? I had a saddle with a very very worn suede seat so it was basically slick leather and I felt like I was constantly off balance because I was always slipping around hahah!

It took some getting used to. I used the adhesive saddle spray for a few runs. The jockey and a good portion of the seat are still suede though.

I loved my older Triple Creek to the point where I sold it to order a custom one...long story short I would never order from them again.  Nothing but problems and they screwed my order up so bad that by the time I finally got my saddle (8 months later after having to send it back to them when they shiped it unfinshed) I ended up selling it.  It was on the wrong tree and the leather was poor quality.  I would either buy an older used TC (I loved my original one that was made in 2008) or go with a different option.  As for seats, I always rode in rough out until my TC, that was full tool w/ stingray seat.  It took a little bit to get used to but I can't stand riding in a rough out seat now

I have a triple creek and a Shiloh. The triple creek throws me more forward. The Shiloh you can sit deep.

Triple Creeks have always thrown me forward, which I really don't like since I tend to have a more forward seat anyways (years of showing hunters).....

My favorite seat material though: elk, from Caldwell. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

I am not a triple creek fan, it hurt my hips, I lasted 40 seconds in it and had to dismount.

I also find the leather is not great quality

As for the gator seats

The true gator seats are not that slippery compared to a roughout seat

Imitation gator seats are horribly slippery

Make sure it is true gator, when I custom ordered my martin saddle it was an extra 480, so expect to pay around that for the true gator seat

I'm a litle surprised. I absolutely love my Triple Creek saddle. I ordered mine a few years ago and it's still holding up good. Good leather, got the tree I ordered, asked for the 5 inch cantle and I got it no problem. I ride in a 15 inch seat and I've never felt thrown forward in it. I have also rode two very different horses in it, a push style and a free runner. Never got small dry spots on either horses back from it as well. I'd buy from them again but I do know that they havr been making slight changes to their site this last year..

I have 2 Pro Riders.. I believe they use the same Steele Trees as Triple Creek.  One of them is a suede seat and one is ostrich. I rode my push style turny mare in the ostrich seat and did not have any issues with it being slick. I am not the best rider either.. my 2 cents. :o)

I have had my triple creek since 2009. I LOVE mine. It sits me right in the middle of the horse's back. I like the narrow twist in the tree. To me, it's a very comfortable saddle. That being said.... I've tried to talk to them a few times about getting another saddle. Poor customer service. They had me send in what I had in mind... next thing I knew, my design was being advertised on their website as one of their saddle lines. Would I do business with them again? NO. I wouldn't waste my time. I will purchase a different brand of saddle when the time comes.

I spoke with TC and agree about customer service. Very rude and snappy, never answered some questions I had...looking into Shilohs now!

I ordered a custom Triple Creek in 2014. Can't say I would again.
