I had a horrible experience two years ago with AAA's RV plan after they told me they would cover the living quarters. When push came to shove they absolutely would not. I paid that membership for six years and when I finally had to use it, it was worthless.

Don't get me wrong, I can change my own tires and small repairs but I typically travel alone so some extra security makes me feel better.

Is US Rider any better/ worth it? The price seems reasonable for all they state on their website. Is there another company thats worth checking into?

Last time I neede US rider to change a flat I was going to have to wait 3 hours and pay someone 300 to change it. Now I can change my own and I would never have US rider again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had US Rider for many years & it has always paid for itself. I won't be without it.
There is another company out there that I'm hearing good reviews on BUT they are about 3x the price.

I've had US Rider for over 10 years and will not haul without it. Had no issues. When needed, they have showed up and taken care of me and my horses.

I was sure glad to have it last summer in 100+degree heat in South Ft Worth. (Not the best part of town). Called them at midnight in Texarkana and someone came out to change the flat. Sure, I can change a flat but who wants to? I have it and give it to my trainer for Christmas every year.

I have it and used it once for my car when the clutch went out.  I live in BFE so was pleased that they had someone out in less than 2 hrs with a car hauler to take it to the dealer.

On another occasion, I had a flat on a big trailer at 1604 and I-10 in San Antonio.  I called them to get someone to put the spare on for me.  They asked me a million questions about my truck and trailer.  I kept telling the operator that it didn't matter, all I needed was the spare put on.  I was still answering questions 10 minutes later when 2 young men stopped and put the tire on for me.  Those questions were totally irrelevant to getting my tire changed.

A friend of mine tried to use them twice in the past few months and USRider never responded.  First, a truck broke down on I-35 south at Walzem, a major section of San Antonio, during one of the hottest days of the year.  They made his friends sit with the truck for HOURS and never got a tow company out, nor did they keep in contact to let them know nobody was coming.  That's ridiculous in a metro area where tow companies are plentiful.  USRider finally asked THEM to get a tow company and they would pay for it.  About 3 hours later, they finally got the truck towed.

Then his RV broke down outside Seguin on I-10 and they never got anybody to tow it.  Once again, it was up to them to find a company and then USRider paid the bill afterward.

Have them, will never not have them. They have gotten me tows with the horse trailer and without. AAA told me they wouldnt touch my truck (3500 dually) because it was bigger then a 2500 (the truck is my daily driver and had lost a $7 o-ring in power steering). US rider had a company out within 40 min and towed us

They have been great except for one time and I attribute that to the particular operator we had. She was not the brightest bulb.
Had a flat on a bumper pull. She wouldn't listen to my husband when he told her the tire size and rim pattern. She kept asking the make of the trailer. Well it was a custom build. He told her exactly what we needed but she didnt seem to understand... then she was gonna send a wrecker to tow the trailer... uh... it has a FLAT... then she was gonna send a roll back to haul the trailer. Hubs had to explain it was too tall to sit on a trailer and be DOT compliant. UGH!!!! She said she called 10 places but upon further examination she only called 3...hubs finally found a company to come fix it.

Still though this was the only time we've had issue, the other times they were great.

Had to use them twice and was they did great. First time no issues at all, both truck and trailer (incl horse) was towed to the house without incident. The second time they did great, unfortunately the "mechanic" that came out was an idiot.... and I did report him to them. Hope they won't use him again.
Other than that I will not leave home without it!

We've had US Rider for the past 5 years...never once had to use them (Thank Goodness) until about 3 weeks ago....
We were in route to a barrel race when the water pump went out on our truck (dodge 3500 dually). We made it safely to a shaded pull off at a safe distance off the busy 4 lane highway. We reached out to USR and they got a tow truck in route, said it would be approximately 45 minutes and they sent us a confirmation text with the tow driver's contact info. Ok great! well after about 30 minutes USR rep called us back and we were told that tow company had cancelled last minute (said their truck was down or something) anyway USR assured us they had already called another local tow company and that it would be about 45-60 minutes until they arrived and sent us another confirmation text with the contact info. Again, ok no biggie.
Well that hour had passed with no call from USR and no tow truck. So i called the driver's number that was sent to us via text; it was only after we called the tow company directly that we were told "Oh, we told the rep at USR that our trucks cannot haul a dually" ..... NOBODY from USR relayed this information to us. I called USR rep back again and, in the nicest way possible, asked WTF?
Long story short, the whole ordeal from the time the first call was placed to USR until the truck was towed home was 5 HOURS; mind you we were only maybe 30 minutes from home....
USR is actually only open M-F...so when you call their help line, it rings you to a call center in Canada... literally. The people who are in the call center aren't much help, they basically just google local tow companies and hope for the best.
The tow truck driver who got our truck home enlightened us on a fun fact: most tow companies (at last in my area of East TN) won't work with or take calls from USR because they wont pay the bill, they barely pay the tow company enough to cover the driver's wage for the call because they want to negotiate the bill down and dispute charges.
I left a voicemail on the voicemail for the USR administrative office that Saturday evening after the ordeal was over requesting a call back from someone in management first thing Monday morning. (I was hot ) and got a call back Monday evening from a customer service rep only AFTER i'd reached back out to them via Facebook messenger.
When finally put in touch with someone in management, she apologized for the incident and stated that it was unacceptable. She went as far as to pull the recorded phone call(s) and listened to each. We got a call back the next day and were again apologized to and given our next year and 6 months membership free.
Yes, I am very much appreciative of the understanding and compassion we received from the lady in management at USR directly but IMO they really need to work on their call center reps as far as enlightening them with the fact that most of their help calls WILL HAVE A HORSE TRAILER IN TOW and also maybe have designated tow companies in certain areas they work with on the regular to avoid situations like mine where the company couldn't haul a dually.

We kept our membership. I guess in the long run it's definitely better to have SOMETHING rather than nothing in situations where your truck and trailer are stranded; unfortunately I'll have a bad taste in my mouth until they prove me otherwise (but obviously hoping they don't get the chance and nothing else happens! )

Gosh with what some of the BB's experience's have been with US Rider not being good, it sounds like a neigh for me, they should know that they are dealing with {Horse women/men} that have Dullys and trailers, should be no excuse for not keeping in touch with their customers that are depending on them, not letting them know if help is on the way or not.

I have used my US Rider a number of times over the years and have had nothing but positive experiences.  A couple of times the response has been somewhat slow but I attribute that to my location in the middle of nowhere.  In those instances the rep kept in contact with me until my assistance arrived.  One time we lost tread on a trailer tire and when it slung off it cut both my brake and light wiring.  We were three hours from home but did limp a few more miles to our destination.  A roadside semi assist was dispatched and changed my tire and rewired everything on site.  Recently my 350 would not start  (starter turned out to be out ) setting in my driveway.  US Rider sent a wrecker and transported it 40 miles to my ford dealer.  Other than that I have had lock-out service and several tires changed.

Tried AAA and they will not touch a big truck, inside dual or a trailer.

I've had good and not so good experiences with US Rider. After hours or out in the boonies, it's going to be less than stellar service. I had a flat the other day, ended up changing it myself. I just don't want to be without it.

They have saved my butt so many times!
I was at Buckeye one year when it just about flooded and EVERYONE got stuck, they sent out a truck to pull me out, the rates other people were paying to be towed out covered my membership for the whole year, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever NOT gotten my money’s worth.
