Location: Jersey Girl | I have been to one and really did learn a lot. The only down fall for me was the number of students. There was about 55 so you don't get a lot of one on one time because they have a schedule to keep. |

But luckily we were in a covered arena to ride. Be prepared to ride for an extended period of time! They helped me with things I didn't even know u needed help with. |

You are SO lucky, I live near the mountains in NC and really want to go, but it's just to expensive. It's actually cheaper for us to go to her ranch in Texas for 600 than just 2 1/2 days somewhere near by for 400. Plus we got to ride 8hrs a day for the first 4 days then 6hrs the next two days and then the last day was our last competition. I improved my time from the late 22 seconds to a high 19 second run while I was there. Now I can run a easy 16.5 with her at our local rodeos with all the time and riding I've done at home. Applying with what I learned to her and reminding her what we did. And you'll learn exercises and drills that you can apply to every horse you ride. Also it really helped me as well with my body position. We also did a 1 on 1 with Martha Josey herself while we were there and then some sessions with just 2 other people and then the other time we were in groups but we still got treated like we were 1 on 1. And Ty and Lisa Mitchell and Gary Arthur were really nice and it helps a lot when they've rode not just some horses with a little problems here and there, but they've rode a LOT of different horses with a LOT of different problems so they know how to fix them and work with them and you. But if you do go to their ranch in Marshall, TX then you better have your horse conditioned because it's hard on them all the horses there were sore after the first couple days, and you will defiantly be tired I know I was. I didn't get back to the hotel till 11 at night and then got right back up at 5:30 every morning still tired, lol. But it was all worth it but it was literally THE BEST clinic I have EVER been to! I wish I could go again this year...

It's an indoor! Weather doesn't matter. It shouldn't be 20-30 degrees by that time. More like 40s at the coldest I would say (hopefully). Might be cold at night, but that doesn't bother me. I'm just ready to go!
Me, hubby, and a friend signed up last week. Been looking forward to it since Beth told us about it last year.
Hubby went to one YEARS ago. Like when he was in high school I think. LOL He loved it. Despite the large group, they give you plenty of one on one time. He said Friday night they had a 50 cent jackpot where Lisa videoed their runs. Then the next morning they split up into 3 groups where one worked the pattern with Ty, one worked some drills with Chad (he was the third guy at that time), and then Lisa critiqued your video also in another area. Then they had the jackpot on Sunday after Cowboy Church. Things may have changed in the 10 years since he's been, but I couldn't tell you.
I'm ready to go! We will be leaving Friday morning to be there. We'll be camping across the road in the primitive spots. We use a generator for our dressing room.

Location: Arkansas | I went a few years ago and it was a great experience and I did learn a few things, but I feel as if it was geared towards more inexperienced riders. There were a lot of people there when I was also, and I feel like I didn't get as much one on one time because I was further along than the other riders in my group. The staff there was great and were willing to answer any question you had at all!! I would be prepared to eat lunch on your horse and to be dog tired by the end of day 1 lol!! They sure wear you out! I hope yall have fun!!!!! |

| I was very disappointed with the amount of one-on-one time given at the clinic I attended but maybe that was because our clinic was running behind. I had a much better time at the Marlene McRae clinic I went to before. Thats just my experience though. |

| I really didn't like the clinic. Seemed like it benefited people that are younger or not as experienced. People starting out seemed to get more one on one time spent with them. I wouldn't go to another one. Learned more from Ed wright clinic. |

| I think the main thing about these clinics is it teaches the inexperienced a LOT; while it teaches the experienced the benefit of practicing. It gives the seasoned horses a tune up with many sets of expert eyes watching you. Even if you are winning the 1D there is always something to learn. From moving your hand down 1/2 inch on your rein to proper forms of practice. Its a great way to spend a lot of quality time with your horse and really click with it. The worst thing to do is to go there with the attitude that you know it all and you don't want to learn, cause you can always always always learn more. |
