| I don't like it. If "Hollywood Jesus" is what you're lookin' for this may be the movie for you... but everything has been changed and tweaked just like "The Bible" series.

I appreciate your input. When I watch something like this I know it is made to sell tickets so I watch if and compare it to what I have studied in the scriptures and how the spirit of the Holy Ghost testifies to me. |

| I believe The Passion of the Christ is probably the best one made so far.. and probably the best one that will ever be made. Mel Gibson did a wonderful job following the scriptures directly. For a Christian who knows their Bible well, it may not be harmful to see The Son of God, however if it is someone who has never come to know Christ, and they just get the watered down version of Him, it may be harmful. The church simply doesn't teach the art of true repentance anymore and it is becoming so much more watered down as time goes by... it is truly saddening. |

watered down is better than no Jesus. maybe some will be driven to seek more. we can only pray. |

That is true to a point. It has just become a convenient accessory that people just add on to their lives. They forget the whole "Take up your cross and follow me" and what Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-23. Nobody in the church preaches the art of true repentance. Nobody teaches that this isn't a prayer you say and then you receive a free ticket to heaven, no matter what you decide to do after you've become "saved." Nobody tells the youth in the Church that they are to be saved and then to drop everything and seek God and to seek being separate from the world from then on... they just give them John 3:16 and a study Bible and hope they'll figure it out themselves. Hopefully some will be driven to seek more of Him, and not just what Hollywood gives. Prayer is probably one of the only and most affective tools we have now. But we do need so many more people to speak about the truth and point out the false teachers more openly. Because now, the false teachers and the ones who pick and choose what they want out of scripture are the ones who have the most followers. Proverbs 14:12, There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. It is so easy anymore to be deceived and it is our job as Christians to help keep others from it.

Location: Somewhere between S@% stirrer and Saint | I went and saw it tonight. I loved it but it is late so I will report tomorrow why. Yes there were things added verbally and changed a little but I didn't think it took away from the message.
Couple important things that I thought were left out that should have been in there. |

| I saw it today and I actually liked it.
I thought the actor playing Jesus (Diogo Morgado) did a very good job of portraying the gentle loving and patient personality of Jesus.
No, the movie was not completely accurate. Yes, they did leave some things out that I felt were important. However, overall, if this movie even makes some people THINK about Jesus Christ when before they didn't - I'm good with that.
Although I do think The Passion of the Christ was better overall, I think that Son of God is worth going to see. JMHO...........

Location: Somewhere between S@% stirrer and Saint | I liked that they understood that they understood the role Jesus Christ "In the Beginning" They showed the activity of the Premortal Jesus Christ, many do not understand it. Jesus Christ was the Premortal God of this Earth. They quote the verses from John about In the beginning there was God and ect and he was made flesh.
In the movie they Quoted Jesus as being the only Son of God. We are are all spirit children of God. I wish they would have defined it more by say that Jesus is the only son of God in the Flesh.
Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. It is through him that we can repent of our sins. The movie was very shallow in this area and I think it was one of the major important parts of the movie and it is missing. When Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemanie he prayed to God and during this time is when he took all of our sins upon him if we repent. This is where he atoned for all the sins of man kind. He suffered for even more the pains and and anguishes we shall feel and all manors of suffering and illnesses. Jesus Christ suffered all so that he may feel what we as weak mortal humans will experience in this world. ( I wish I could express it more eloquently but I am not much of a writter).
God and Christ could have stopped His Crusifixion at any time but it had to be an example for us that we will all die but we will be alive in Christ. Christ broke the bonds of death and we all will be resurrrected. Just depends upon which resurrection we will be resurrected in the 1st or the 2nd.
Over all I enjoyed the movie and hope it brings more to Christ. |
