Location: CentralTexas | I've had this horse for about three weeks. We feed Total Equine and he's been eating fine up until Monday of this week. He just picks at it then eats the weeds at the end of his pen, and he eats all his hay and grass in their turnouts, but won't finish his food. Probably takes 4 bites then done. I've put healthy coat on it and even crushed up treats to coat the food and he won't touch it. Should I switch him to something else? Or is something wrong? |

Location: mn | Mine did the same thing when he was dealing with ulcers. Ate hay and grass fine, but would only pick at his grain and not finish it. After I treated him, he went back to enhaling his grain. If yours was eating grain fine up until a few days ago, it sounds like something is bothering him. Ulcers would be a good possibility. |

Location: God's country...aka TEXAS | I agree, it could be ulcers. Mine did the same thing. Would eat his alfalfa and grass but no grain. After I treated his ulcers, he went back to eating grain. |

Location: Bandera, TX | I agree with Northerngirl. If the horse is new to the property he is likely stressing and possible getting an ulcer. Try a flake of alfalfa then a little grain 30 min later. If he eats it treat for ulcer...You can also give an antacid then try to feed. |

Location: Texas | I would try a different feed. That is easy enough & the horse may have just decided he no longer likes that feed. I had a horse that ate the Total Equine for a while and then he decided he didn't like it anymore. Switched him to something else and he was fine. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Sounds like to me he dont like the feed, sense he eats all his hay I would change feed and go from there. If he turns up his nose at new feed then I would be a bit worried about him not finishing all his feed. |

Location: CentralTexas | Ok I'm switching feeds. Gave him ulcer guard and mixed his feed with another, and this brat eats all the new feed and picks out the Total Equine and pushes it to the back of his bucket. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I liked the Total Equine but some horses just don't. I just got 2 horses back from being started and the one refused all grain and the other was just lethargic and not a good eater. I've been treating them for ulcers and both were showing huge improvement in 3-4 days. |

Location: At the barn | Bet you he's just fine. He just didn't like TE. I had one that it took a year before he would eat it good. Keep him on it, he will come around. It's great feed. He's just like I would be if dinnertime started serving me health food lol. |

| ulcers is ususally why they wont eat feed - I have one that did that when I first got him and still 4 years later if we are at a long weekend barrel race he will just pick a little at it so I have learned to always keep in the zone with me and give him a dose after we run- and I give him draw a couple times a week now- you can look up Bristow vet clinic- they treat ulcers with draw its cheap and natural---- in the zone is great to its by animal element and it will def help immediately and its well worth keeping on hand - you can find a dealer near you by going to animal element website - I pm you with some info on it |

Location: Texas | I committed to try total equine for 6 mo. before making any judgements. After about 4 mo. my horses were not real interested anymore. When I first switched them to it, they ate it with gusto! Like I had poured them a bucket of treats :) I also didn't like they way they their coat & condition looked. So, after 6 mo., I finally gave up & switched back to Healthy Edge. |

| ProBios tube paste. 1/2 tube in morning, 1/2 at night. If that doesn't help after a week, try 60 ccs maalox twice a day. See if he starts eating again, if so treat for ulcers. |

| I would try treating for ulcers. 1ounce Alovera Juice morning and night. Also you might think about giving him Renew Gold and oats. I feed 1 1/2 lbs a day and 1 lb of oats a day. It is low in starch and sugar. High in fat. Which is what you need for ulcer horses, |
