Don't Wanna Make This Awkward Posts: 3106 Location: Texas	Will it be safe to just mix pelleted alfalfa into pelleted grain? I've always fed loose alfalfa and now I have to switch since purina isn't making it anymore. Trying to find alfalfa the isn't baled and doesn't need water.

The Bling Princess Posts: 3411 Location: North Dakota	I feed Standlee Alfalfa pellets and have had no issues. Been feeding them for a couple of years in lieu of baled alfalfa. They are cleaner and more consistent. My horses love them.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1028	Depends on your area, but I think they were $13.99 last time I was in Tractor Supply. I mix my own feed and use the Standlee pellets in it. I haven't had any trouble with them and my horses look great.

I don't do it gradually, but I only feed about half a small bucket in the evening to mix supplements into. I always add a little bit of water because I am afraid of them choking, but it doesn't take very long for them to get a little bit soggier. I pay around $14/bag for the Standlee products.

Red Bull Agressive Posts: 5981 Location: North Dakota	My horse gets a scoop of alfalfa pellets every day. The only thing I add are his supplements (most of which are pelleted).
