Some of the holes are about 6" off the ground. AND man I'd think I could hear them if they were out there that close to my house.. I'm hoping not some kind of beetle or worm that's gonna kill the tree.

Spray for insects, then paint the holes. Easily fixed

Expert Posts: 1857	its a sapsucker, member of the woodpecker family, it licks the sap from the tree. It wont hurt the tree because it doesn't ever go deep enough, is what I was told.
