Who have you used or bought from in Texas that you would do a repeat purchase from? Specifically started horses that just need finishing. I am looking at going to texas soon to try some horses and was just wondering if anyone had purchase from someone/someplace I hadn't thought to check out yet.

Thank you!

I have a couple young horses that would be worth looking at if you're coming through NE Texas.  :)

Yes check out what Herbie has!!!  She puts a GREAT start on them, they are easy for others to run and she is 100% honest in what she sells.  And if she doesn't have it she can find it!

I have perosnally purchased 3 horses from Jessi (Herbie).  These horses have all been exactly what was promised, and probably more than what she promised.  Not only can she train, she can compete and take your money too.

Never know what gem she has standing in her barn that just might fit what you are looking for.  Feel free to pm and ask anything you want....

Thank you, KMT.  And through these horses we have become great friends....sisters!  I've been so fortunate through the years to have been able to keep in touch with almost everyone who has bought a horse from me and am proud to call many of these people some of my closest friends.  It's cool to see them go on and do well with others along the way!  As a "trainer", it's like a proud parent moment.  I never had any children of my own, so getting to see my babies succeed brings a huge smile to my face.

Now with two step daughters, my priorities have shifted and my horses don't get out as much as they used to.  I still keep tinkering with them and always have something around that is ready to haul.

Thank you KMT and CarrieH77 for ya'lls kind words!  Big hugs!!!!

Josey's always has a selection of horses and they match horse with rider's ability. Don't know about prices. Some are listed on their website. Jana Beam usually has some horses for sale at reasonable prices. She won the slot race at the BBR last year so she is definitely a good trainer. Jana usually advertises on facebook. That is Beam with an M. Those are the only ones that I know of in E TX.

Agree with kmt and carrieh on what they have said about Herbie.  Contact her, I know she has 2 very nice individuals in her barn right now.

SG. - 2015-09-08 2:24 PM Kinsey Chandler!

KMCsunshine's daughter

For sure, Kinsey!  Best kept secret in the state of Texas probably!  Of course she's probably not a secret at all.  If she has a young horse for sale, i'd definitely go look.  A great foundation will absolutely be there on anything she's started!!!

I bought a colt from deavers although it was a little problem getting hauled. The mare was a lot nicer that i could have imagined. She was 15.2 and built like a tank and the biggest sweatheat you could think of and showing a lot of ability on the cans. Maybe no as broke as i expected but i got sick right after i got her and she sat all winter did get to start riding her until mid april and with only 3 weeks on the barrels and i have hard ground and grass. Carried her to a show 10 days ago she did a nice ob i changed headgear and last weekend went thru exhibition sat and then a senior she was slow but she loped hard set and turned on her own with min help from me and walked out of the arena like mothing happened was better sunday i actually held her back. She is awsome.
