My gelding is off when loping circles to the left. Can you tell if he is off in the front end or back end? I'm calling my vet tomorrow to get an appointment. Normally he is very light in the face. He started doing this about two weeks ago and I had the chiropractor out last week and he said he was out in his shoulder and hip and popped him back in place. I gave him a few days off and got back on tonight and he is still off. He feels very heavy on his front end and is visibly agitated when I ask him to lope a correct

If hes heavy on front end he may be not wanting to put weight on hind so could be hocks.

So many people over look thrush. Even me until now. I didn't think I had thrush but I went ahead and treated and a couple days later it started surfacing where I could see. The frog is pretty good hiding it! Now that I have treated made a world of difference. I think it is a lot more painful that what people give credit to it being.

I definitely won't be working him. I just got on to see how he felt after the chiropractor worked on him. He has an appointment Friday to go to the vet. Thank you

It is easier to see issues at a trot trotting in a straight line going away from the camera and a side angle

He's off in his left rear... Check his hamstrings... It could be soft tissue. Don't ride him, just turn him out for a while and see if he gets better.

Yes to what others have said, left rear is definitely more sore, but I would guess he would flex positive on both. Poor guy looks pretty ouchy. What shoulder was he out in? I would assume from compensating for the rear end pain. You'll probably want to get him adjusted/massaged again as well as I bet he wasn't able to keep his hip in. Good luck :)

AMEN, I can see where they are lame WAY easier at a trot but it looks like the back end to me.

Looks like the left rear but it's difficult to really see from this video.  It's much easier to gauge when they are trotting than loping.

I think trotting is the only surefire way to tell if they are lame. My horse was dead lame at the trot but could lope just fine. Let us know what the vet says!
