I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about the best way to sell a breeding? Last year I bought 2 breedings to a very nice stallion, and one of my mares ended up being infertile. The vets don't think she will ever be able to breed because of her age and a few other factors. I got a colt out of the other mare but she almost died delivering... so at this point I'm done with breeding for now. I have talked with the stallion owner and he says that he will allow me to transfer the breeding to someone else and honor the extra breeding. I posted in a few different facebook groups but haven't gotten much interest, despite selling it at a discount. Are there any other ways people have had luck with? Or maybe people have specific fb groups they would recommend posting in? Thanks!

This time of year it likley wont sell in my experience, the stallions them selves are running discounts and many people don't book until the new year.

I've honestly had the best luck buying and selling unwanted breedings once breeding season gets going.

Della- I had wondered about that! I guess I'll just have to be patient and keep putting it out there! Where have you had luck selling them in the past? Thanks!

A few years ago I sold a breeding here on BHW. I agree with the poster who said you probably won't get it sold now cause of the time of year but hey you never know.

Wondering if anyone has any other ideas on how to sell? I had posted the breeding in several facebook groups and gotten some interest, but now after the first of the year  some of those groups are gone? I also feel like my posts on facebook have gotten flagged more so it is making it hard to get the word out there.  I'm not sure if the rules about selling things on facebook have changed and that is why? who knows.

I have also tried posting on MeWe as well.

The breeding is for Guys Canyon Moon for anyone asking. I am really happy with the colt we got last year but I just don't have a mare I can breed any more.

Thanks!!

I'm in the same boat. I have a breeding to NNN Firewater Alive that I need to sell. I won it in a raffle. Very nice stud, just not a fan of black horses.
