Can't make my mind up between the best ever pads or impact gel.

Any reviews?

to be honest...spend a few more dollars and get a 5 star. Best Ever don't hold up that well, IMO. They are pretty and fun, but "pretty is as pretty does." The 5 star is a much better quality felt.

Thanks for the input, I have a new treeless and judging by the research I'm trying to do I'm now leaning towards the 5star anyways.

I've got both, 5 Star and Best Ever. They are both good IMO. Best ever is a bit softer And more flexible. Both are quality.

I have two best evers just ordered my third. One is newer and I like it just fine but my older one is amazing I have ridden manymany hours since I first won it in 2007 still going strong and not overly smashed down.

^that being said I have one impact gel fleece pad. Love it on one horse HATE it on the other. Rolls and is very pliable.

best Evers break down really fast.  All the ones I've seen have looked like crap!  Just sayin'.

Definitely go with the 5 star. My best ever pad only lasted a few months before it started breaking down and I only used it to run in. What a waste of money. 5 stars are worth the money to me.

I had several when the best ever was the new "in thing." I didn't like them, I think they lasted a month in my trailer then I sold them. They made my mare buck for unknown reason....so I invested in a 5 star. I just ordered another 5 star and I'm actually picking it up today.

I perfer my 5 stars over anything anymore. The price is worth a pad that will last you years

I agree with spending the extra money on the 5star, mine have all compressed from my saddle, they may have changed the way they make them now cause this was a few years ago, I just never bought another one.

I had to get a chiropractor to fix my mares back while I was at clinic. I had just got the pad and he said that the way it was made caused her back to go out of placement. And that I would have to cut it at a 45 degree angle at the back part where it wouldn't do that anymore. Now, I only use it on my chubby 14.3 hand mare. She's never had a problem with it and LOVES it and makes the saddle fit more evenly over her back.

I've always had to double pad my mare to keep her from being sore. Saddle fit her fine. Sweat was even.

Hubby bought me a Best Ever, and I don't have to double pad any more. So I, personally, love it. Then again, I've never tried a 5 star.

I go for quality and long lasting....which neither of those do. And the BE are far from the best in my honest opinion. They don't hold up, I have seen pads with only a couple months old and it already looks like a rabbid cat got to it. I have 3 5 Stars and one of them is 12yrs old and looks fantastic and still going strong.

5 Stars would be my choice, worth every penny spent on them.

5 Stars are amazing. If I had to choose between an IG and a BE, I would go with the BE. I feel the gel insert in the IG's hold in too much heat. Thats just my opinion/ experience though.
