| Had anyone ever had trouble with there five star saddle pad rubbing along the loinarea ? This has happened to me with 2 different horses 2 different saddles and 2 different saddle pads. The pads are brand new so they are clean saddles fit pretty good . Any suggestions how to stop it |

Location: Central Iowa, surrounded by corn! | By chance is the pad too long? My daughter just bought one for the gelding she got from me. When she told me what size she was getting I expressed concern that it might be too long since he is pretty short backed! She told me yesterday that it is too long for him!! |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I never have either but if you horse is super short backed and your pad is a 32+ long, it may be too long. |

Location: Texas | I did with my shorter backed horse. I got a shorter pad Nd it does no appear to be rubbing but it is hard to tell since the long winter hair had already been broken off |

| I have a horse that did the same thing (not with a 5 star pad) and its because the pad is too long usually. when the horse turns the pad moves with your saddle and if the pad goes past a certain point it rubs the hair off. I just work mine on my day to day stuff with a short pad and save my other one for competetion where I dont have to ride as long. |

Location: Phoenix | I would say it's too long. I like my pads to be 29-30" long for my ladies rope saddle. I don't like a lot of extra pad. |

| No, but I never buy longer than a 30" pad because a lot of my horses are shorter bodied. I have 7 or 8 5 Stars and never had any issue.

Location: Where the long tails flow, ND | Yep I have a super short backed horse , every pad I've used rubs. I was told to put a satin sheen type spray to help the pad glide over the areas |

Location: Small Town Iowa | I have had this problem, mine was rubbing but it was due to my saddle not fitting good. Had a SQHB on a FQHB built horse. Got a wider saddle and fixed my problem. |

| Never had a problem with my 5 star and it is running 7 or 8 years old right now. But, I have had the same issue, and it was saddle fit. |

Location: The South | My horse is short backed so I got a smaller 5 star and got the back edges rounded and it fits him perfect. Sounds like it might be too long for your horse, can you try putting it further up on his back and riding with it? I had to do that with a Professional Choice pad that was too long for mine. It looked a little goofy to have so much pad in front of my saddle but it was better than my horse bucking because the back corner of the pad tickled his flank LOL! |
