The nut should be away from the horse, not against. If you want send me the picture to my email and I will upload it for you, [email protected] |

Location: Kilgore, NE | We sell a lot of these and you are not the first to question the correct way to put them on. First of all the smooth rounded bolt head should be to the outside or away from the horse. This is the long side of the stirrup which slants away from the horse. The stirrup that is marked right inside is actually the left side stirrup and goes on the left side of your horse with the nut to the inside. The stirrup marked left inside is the right stirrup. These are great stirrups that we offer in 2", 3", and also 4". Hope this helps |

Location: Kilgore, NE | The long side of the stirrup always goes to the outside. Walls uses a covered nut on the slanted stirrup and puts it to the outside (long side) of the stirrup. He uses a regular uncovered nut on the slanted and twisted stirrup and it is on the inside (short side) of the stirrup. The stirrup is always are put on with the long side to the outside or away from the horse. |

| I went to your web site - did not see 4" twisted I am looking for twisted with a 4" base.. |
|
|
|
Location: Kilgore, NE | We offer the 4" twisted in two different styles. One is like the barrel stirrup which has narrow sides and the other is a roper style with wide sides. They both have 4" bottoms with leather tread but neither have the rubber pad in them.

Thanks!!
We installed them yesterday when I got to ride my new Love for the first time. We put them on, thought they looked funny, changed them, trainer got on and said no way, changed them back again and they were good. I rode the new pony and my DFP colt with them and loved them. I really noticed the difference, or lack of knee torque, at the lope and above. Your foot still has to be forward and heels down, but it's easier to achieve that without pulling on your knees. I made a pretty sporty run on my colt and had no issues. I ride with very long stirrups and sometimes if the stirrups themselves are slick I will lose one. These stirrups stuck just fine. |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | I use these too. I’ve always been confused by the left and right stirrup. I didn’t know they were marked. Mine just looking at them does look backwards. Like I think I have my left on the right and my right on the left. I just let my saddle guy put them on so I assumed they were on correct. I’ll have to look at them agin now. |
