The sand in my arena seems to literally suck the moisture right out of my horses feet.  I'm looking for something economical that I can use frequently.  Any suggestions?  I know alot of people have great home remedys...

Good Ole Hooflex but I also like Rio Vista Hoof Manicure which is a little cheaper and like a gel/lotion ! Putting oil on the hoofs frequently is bad and can make the hooves soft. I would use oil once a week if that, but the hoof manicure stuff is more of a lotion. A cheap way to make your own oil is dump 1/2 and 1/2 of olive and vegtable oil in a tub and paint on.

My vet says that unless it is ingested it is only going to make you feel nice, but isn't going to actually help.  For that reason I feed rice bran, I love it on new horses as you see the healthy hoof growing out.  Makes a huge difference and it is pretty affordable and has lots of other benefits.

Try a hoof special blend in the Performance formula from THE. The special blends are free this month so a great way to try. $60 for 80 days

This is what everyone seemed to do when I lived in NV. I found that my horses never really had an issue with their feet there but I also have rice bran in my feeding...maybe that was why? I never had the problem so didn't think much about it.

I was looking for a commercial hoof dressing that was convenient (has a brush & I can paint on), so I tried Hooflex All Natural Conditioner. (Not the original Hooflex) It has tea tree oil & avacado oil & other good stuff. No petroleum distillates. It works wonderfully. I also think flax helps a lot.

I love Hoof Heal!!! My farrier recommended it so I gave it a try and I was immediately impressed. You can see it soaking in where the other stuff is just glossy thick gunk like Chapstick that just sits on top and never sinks in.
