 It's rainy. I'm cold.
Anyone willing to share a good soup/chowder/or chili recipe with me?
Paleo, Vegan, Vegetarian, any meat, all meat, healthy, not healthy, and everything in-between is welcome.

I have lots of recipes for soup, chowder, and chili but I'm a little bored with my variations.

Also, I'm looking for a new cornbread recipe to go with chili or beans. Those are welcome too.

Thank you guys!

ETA: I only make my cornbread in a cast iron skillet. I also have a dutch oven I love if anyone has any good recipes that are soup/chowder/chili for my Dutch oven.

I don't have an actual recipe because I tend to just throw stuff in and pray it turns out! I do use steak in my chili along with burger, bacon, sometimes sausage, a variation of peppers and lots of spices. What I think makes it really good is to add Tequilla, a can of beer and I throw some red wine in if I have it.

I have made this with homemade creamed corn and potato soup when I tried to steer from so many canned foods......this tastes great EITHER way (of course so much easier with canned!  I have also added instant potatoes and some cream when I didn't have any potato soup and that was really good, too!

I LOVE cooking, and am always happy to share recipes! I'm just going to post links, or this will be the longest post ever.

This is an absolutely delicious cornbread - not a dry, crumbly type. So good with chili. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/cheesy-jalapeno-cor...

Chicken gumbo (divide this recipe by AT LEAST 4 - it makes a TON of soup) http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/chicken-gumbo

Leftover hambone soup - I used mild white chili beans, undrained instead and it was AWESOME http://****delicious.net/2013/12/25/leftover-hambone-soup/

Easy white chicken chili - I made this with pheasant breast and stirred in a little plain Greek yogurt http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/5-ingredient-easy-white-chicken-chili-...

Chicken pot pie soup http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/chicken-pot-pie-soup-recipe/

The. Best. Potato. Soup. Ever. http://****delicious.net/2013/10/14/loaded-baked-potato-soup/

ETA: just realized it's censoring some of my web links...the ones that are starred out, plug in d-a-m-n without the hyphens :)

This is a chicken Chili recipe we like. I get a lot of requests for the recipe.

4 Tablespoons butter (1/2 stick)
1 small onion chopped.

1 1/2 to 2 cups cooked chicken
14 ounce can pinto beans - drained and rinsed
14 ounce can black beans - rinsed and drained
14 ounce kidney beans - drained and rinsed
14.5 ounce can corn - drained and rinsed
15 ounce can diced tomatoes
2 cans tomato soup
3 cups chicken broth
1 1/4 ounce package ranch salad dressing mix (3 TBS)
1 1/4 ounce package taco seasoning mix
24 ounce jar salsa - mild, medium or hot depends on your taste

SautΓ© the onions in the butter until softened. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend.

I knew I liked you. Corn Chowder is my favorite kind of Chowder.
Crock pots are the best.
Thank you for the recipe!

cutnrunqhmt - 2017-01-13 12:03 PM I don't have an actual recipe because I tend to just throw stuff in and pray it turns out! I do use steak in my chili along with burger, bacon, sometimes sausage, a variation of peppers and lots of spices. What I think makes it really good is to add Tequilla, a can of beer and I throw some red wine in if I have it.
I've never thought to add alcohol.

We have always put beer in our chili. You'd be amazed at what it does for meat.  Tequila?  I can get a buzz and get full at the same time. sounds great.

My husband makes amazing ham & sweet potato soup.  He cooks one of the white sweet potatoes and purees it with some milk to thicken the soup towards the end.  Ham, sweet potatoes, whatever veggies you like & enough red pepper flakes to give it the zing you like.  Yummmmy.
