| TB's will not have a speed index ...
Google your race horse's and find an old ad and it will have SI on it ...
Or use this link for race horses and then look at each race chart to find their highest SI ... your old old horses will not have the charts ...
STREAKIN SIX ..
when you pull him up there is his SI 104 with his name ... click on it and then RESULTS and you will see there are no charts ..

You can use equibase to find the others if they raced ... pay no attention to the Highest E it is associated with the Beyer numbers for TB's ...

| Yes, some TBs do have official AQHA speed indexes and race records. One of our mares had a TB foal ROM and win a mixed breed race. Not really a surprise since she had a stakes winning QH foal :-)Â |

At one time some tracks allowed TB's to run years ago and the speed indexes are phoney ... this is back in the day when horses ran A, AA, AAA and TAAA ... based on hand timers ...
AQHA did a computer computation and gave speed indexes to these horses based on the new 3 horse 3 years averages at each track for a 100 speed index ... |

They didn't ask how the TB's got the SI, just if they had them and yes, several TB's have si...back then and still today. |

Still today.
Pull up a horse named Raise A Bet, a tb out of a mare named Bet The Gold.
AQHA has an official record for him...and he isn't that old! |

Actually they do, it's called a Beyer Figure. They are just calculated differently. |

Out of 32 races he ran 870 at Gilliespi and one at Retama ...
His sire PARADE GROUND TB belongs to a friend of mine and he stands about 15 miles from me ....

Manor was a mixed meet and occasionally they would write a mixed breed race. Gillespie is a mixed meet that still happens and they will write mixed breed 870 races so they fill. Preference is QH, but they will take a TB to fill the race. Raise A Bet only ran against the quarters twice, but the result is, he is an official winner of an AQHA recognized race, and he has his register of merit for running a recognized distance at a recognized track.
It is absolutely not common, but it does happen at recognized tracks "today". |
