| I read on here that someone uses the following ingredients to make their own body brace/liniment. It sounds like a lot of ingredients. What do you think? Has anyone done this before? I just want to take some soreness out of my horse
1 bottle green alcohol
1 small bottle vinegar
1 CUP absorbine
1 bottle witch hazel

Location: Smack Dab in the Middle | For a brace, I just use 50/50 green alcohol (Dollar General has a store brand that has Epsom salt in it) and witch hazel. I put it in a sprayer and mist them down after a hard work out or a run. |

Location: In Ky following Barrel Races & Walker hounds. | My FIL made his with:
DMSO
Bigeloil
Green Alcohol
2packs of goody powders
glycerine
Absorbine
And this stuff WORKS. I have used it on horses and myself. I have seen one be sore to the touch down their back, rub them down with this for 3-5 minutes, run something down their back and no reaction. The first run I used it on my old mare she felt SO good. She was a totally different horse. Just shake between each use. Im trying to get his different recipes for these things, several people around the racetrack know a few, he never wrote anything down, but he would share it with you if you ask. I always said I was going to sit down and write down all of his recipes. Unfortunately I never got that chance. |

You said the first run you used it on your mare, she felt great. Do you put it on before you ride and let it dry? |

Location: midwest mama | I've always used this recipe and it works great:
1 Cup Witch Hazel
1 Cup Absorbine (or other similar liniment)
2 Cups Rubbing Alcohol
I used to have an Equine Rehab Center and we used it on all of the therapy horses. Worked wonders! |

Location: OK | I've found glycerine in an oil, and it's pretty thick. You can also put it on manes/tails to help them grow. Coat them in it, braid it up, leave if a few days. If it gets on their skin it will attract dirt, so I only do it at home. You can add it to muds and sweat with it.
This isn't the first stuff I've heard of with dmso and bigeloil or alcohol. I've used it on sore muscles etc, but what about over joints? I wanna know the amounts of each one too.
:)
