| My 3 yr old filly has a small sarcoid on her neck. Have any of you tried the Black Salve Sarcoid Removal cream and had success? Supposed to be great stuff. Any input would be great. |

Location: Sunny So Cal | I've only had the vets take care of mine. Injected with cysplatin (I know that spelling is wrong). tried a whole bunch of things and didn't find any to work. tried burning them, cutting them out, then cutting them out and freezing them and then implanting them back into the neck so she could build up an immune to them. My friend did this mud on her horses ear and it ate right through it so now he has 3/4 of an ear. My gelding has one now. Have to try to figure out how to get rid of it, would be interested in knowing too if the Black Salve works. |

Location: Kansas | I had a gelding that had some big ugly sarcoids....tried just about everything. Ended up having to haul him to the vet....used liquid nitrogen, they fell off and never came back. Just had the white hairs in that spot. |

| Had a mare with one on her eye and the cream worked great! We did it in 3 stages so it didnt go to deep. |

| my vet injects them with Prolotherapy, it usually takes about 3 injections, but works great. |

Location: Winging It in KY | I had read several things about the salve and decided against it. I had read people that had success with it and those that had large holes form where the sarcoid was and ended up having to go to vet for further care. So with that said, I decided to try an old time remedy that my husband talked me into. I used original Crest toothpaste. I put it on EVERY DAY without fail for about 2 - 3 months and one day I went to apply it and it was gone, never to be seen again. Anyway, just another option to think about. Not sure how big the one is that you have but my horse had one just a bit smaller that your pinky finger. Good luck. |

It's a supplement that I feed in her grain every day. A couple people I know said that's what they used and it took a while, but that it worked! It is supposed to dry it out from the inside out. It's been a month or two and I can already tell that it's working because it actually looks like it is drying out! |

The key to the cream is to do it in stages. The one on my mare's eye was like the size of a pea. So first treatment it took like half of it off. We let that heal and went for round 2. Took most of it off, let that heal. 3rd application took care of it. And yep, she got pretty shy from it cause it hurt i'm sure. But no holes in her skin. |

| Some sarcoids are cancerous, some are viral.
Some if they bleed, they are a transmitable disease and contagious, some horses will develop other sarcoids on their body where the blood comes in contact with the skin, other horses in the same area who come in contact with the blood can develop sarcoids.
I go to my vet have them biopsied then lasered off so no bleeding
Also I have been told if the horses are around cattle the cattle can transmit the disease and it can stay in the ground.
I had three horses all sent out to the same trainer, all developed sarcoids, all had them lasered off none have grown back |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | Sounds weird but worked for me...had a gelding who had 2 sarcoids one on his side and another on his neck...only thing I changed was added a cup of omegahorseshine to his feed (not intending to do this just happened) and they both healed on their own within 60-90 days...maybe because it's so good for skin n hair I don't know but they haven't grown back and hair filled in...you can sort of see where they used to be but they are no more! |

Location: Texas | My gelding had a persistant one on the side of his jaw/cheek. I applied the crest toothpaste as often as possible and I put him on Silverlining Herbs #19 Blood Klenz & #24 Immune Support. That was a couple of years ago. No trace of it anymore. |
