| Barrel Racing friends!! I am requesting HELP on this subject! I figure we post different topics on here all the time and so many ppl have great advice.... so here goes.. I have long hair down to the middle of my back thats always been super thick and somewhat healthy... ( i do dye/highlight my hair every couple months) Recently (past 2 weeks) i have noticed more hair shedding out when i shower, brush my hair or just through out the day.. and now i see thinning spots around my temples and frame of my face.. The only 2 things i can come up with are: #1 I have a really stressful job in sales and 2 months ago it was to the point where i developed migraines! Ive never had headaches like that.. they have since gone away but i also lost 10lbs fairly quick and wasnt eating properly. It was a stressful work situation at the time. My doctor is convinced my hair thinning is due to STRESS and if we cant get that under control with meds, etc, i'll need to look for another job!
#2 I had a new hairdressor dye my hair from Blonde to Brunette back in February and had it touched up twice since then.. last time was the beginning of this month. I questioned the quality of my hair after she had touched it... its gotten pretty dry and brittle regardless of the $$$$ i spend on good hair product...
so what im asking is.. HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS? How'd you get through it? What remedies, products...vitamins.. anything.. did you take to help? Thanks in advance |

| I am a believer in Andrew Lessman Healthy Hair Skin & Nails that I get from HSN.com. I have tried other vitamin/mineral supplements with no noticeable results. With this product I did. Plus on the HSN website it has gotten good reviews. |

| My hair was thinning at an alarming rate. Found out much later I was anemic and once I got that taken care of, my hair loss quit. |

 Own It and Move On
Location: The edge of no where | Mine did that late last summer....handfuls were falling out. Started taking a hair, skin & nails supplement, multi vitamin and vit D. They also probably should check your thyroid. My bloodwork came back normal and I cut my hair off to even it up. It quit falling out about Nov and is growing back now. |

Location: Texas | Definitely take a close look at your nutrition. It's seems almost too simple, but I bet that is a big factor. |

Location: Canada | Stress and nutrition are your issue. Make sure you're eating well and take some vitamins.
My hair was super long and stress and poor nutrition made it thin right out and break off. I ended up having to cut it shoulder length and start growing it out again. |

Location: Missouri | Biotin is a good vitamin to take, although like others said, I'd have your thyroid checked.
But biotin worked wonders for me a few yrs back when I wanted my hair to grow quickly. And it helped after my hair thinned after having a baby |

I have long blonde hair and it sheds quite a bit normally. I highlight it about every 3 months, except this last time she took the bleach down to some of my ends and my became hair very dry (and my hair is normally dry anyway) and was shedding much more. Wish I hadn't done it, as my hair was probally in the best shape it had ever been before hand. Anyways....If you dyed it back to a brunette color from blonde, this should have made it healthier. Unless, she possibly let you process to long or used too strong of a developer. Bleach is very damaging to the hair, but color isn't really that bad at all. I would suggest getting some of the Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Mask and Matrix Fiber strong shampoo. Morrocan Oil is really good too. The Macadamia Oil mask has made a huge difference in my hair since I damamged it recently! I swear by Matrix shampoo and conditioner and Morrocan Oil. Last year I hardly ever needed to trim my hair even with blow drying, flat iron, and highlights! Be patient and baby it for awhile. Good luck trying to de-stress! |

Location: God's country...aka TEXAS | I have always dyed/hi lite-ed my hair also and it was fine. STRESS is what also caused me to have problems. I now take a vitamin for hair/skin/nails and use Ovation shampoo and conditioner. It has definitely helped. |

Pureology colour fanatic
Yes most of your problems are stemming from poor nutrition and a very stressful environment, but these two products have helped my hair really thrive. Also if your hairdresser isn't helping you get healthy hair with the right products, you need a new hairdresser too. My hair was thin, brittle, I had so much damage since I color my hair every 6-8 weeks and blow dry and straighten most days. I use the Pureology every time i'm done washing my hair, and the Redkin about twice a week in the shower. my hair has literally done a 180 after a few short weeks, I have to trim my hair every 4 weeks it grows so darn fast now.
I know a lot of women don't want to put products in their hair, but seriously, I barely have to clean my hair brush out anymore and my hair dries SO fast! Your hairdressers aren't just being salesmen trying to get you to buy these products, they are trying to help you achieve a healthy head of hair that you all want!! |

| i agree! She did tell me going to brunette would make it alittle healthier but any color process is damaging. Its just crazy to see how dry it is and its falling out from the top of my head rather than just breaking off. I love Morracain Oil. Thats helped alot! Now i just need to de-stress lol |
