| I am in the market for a new truck. I own a 1 ton ford and love it but it's getting some miles on it and we are trading it in. I have never owned a Chevrolet or GMC diesel and want to know ur thoughts on them. We have owned Dodges for 12 years and after pulling my trailer with my Ford, I will never own another one so I'm not really interested in thoughts on them. I have been looking at Ford again but my husband really likes the GMC Denali. I pull a 4h with living quarters.
Helllllpppp me pick. I need insight ASAP!

Location: Warsaw,NY | I have a 07 Chevy 2500HD duramax. this is my 3rd diesel. Love the allison tranny hauls great, I used to pull a 4h w/8'sw with no problems. My son motocross races and we pull a 35' fifth wheel loaded with dirtbikes and 126 gallon water tank full. u cant even tell its there. mine currently has 178k on it. still runs great. Personally i never had any issues with any of my Duramaxes. I can not comment on any other brand, never had one of them. |

| It has 149k which isn't high for a diesel but bc of the equity we have in the truck, if we keep it til 200k, our equity is cut in half. I also have an escalade that I drove the majority of the time that has 135k on gas motor and we are trading it in too. My kids are not babies anymore and my stepchildren are much older, so I don't need a car that fits a family of 6. It's more than just the miles thing, but was too long to type out for everyone in post. Lol. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I love my GMC. My last one was a 2008 I drove to 150,000 miles and the only reason I got another one was because I upgraded trailers and needed a dually. The one I'm driving now is a 2010, no complaints other than it was a salvage and the guy didn't get everything fixed on it just right. I get 10-11 mpg pulling a trailer that's 11,000 pounds empty. They drive better than Ford, ride better than Ford, and the Duramax/Alison is great. We've got a couple of them on the farm with over 200,000 miles and they have held up.
My parents have a 2015 dually, and it's way nicer than mine. They have further improved the ride and quietness. I borrowed their truck for a barrel race once and didn't want to give it back. LOL |

Location: KS | My dad is a GM for a dealership. He has driven about all of them. He owns a 2015 F250 right now and LOVES it. Actually traded his 2015 Denali because although the payments were low, it wasn't worth it to him. He said the Denali interior was not roomy or comfortable. He also didn't like the way it drove. The 2015 F250 he has is NICE and sure can pull. No complaint's. |

| I just got rid of my 02 Duramax. It had 300,000 miles on it. When I first got it, they didn't do an inspection on it so there was no oil in the transfer case. It went 5,000 miles before the tranny finally blew. Loved that truck. |

It only just rolled over to 100k this year and in all honesty it's really been a money pit. I think with trucks it's just luck. They all have made good ones and bad ones. |

The 01 had injector issues that GM fixed twice. The 2011-14s had a problem with the air filter design that let it suck dust into the engine, but that wasn't a problem for most people. |

Well the first time injectors, new wiring harness, water some how got in the fuel tank and messed a bunch up, & I'm not really sure what else (it's my grandpas). This time it's leaking coolant, thinking it has head gasket issues. |

Location: Oxford, Kansas | I have an 07 duramax 3500 dually that is sitting at 265,000 and it's a BEAST. I absolutely love it, can haul a fully loaded 3 h steel slant and get around 11 mpg running highway speeds. Super comfortable truck and you can't beat the Allison tranny. I also have an 05 F350 with about 240,000... we like it as well but if I have a choice I'm always going to choose the Chevy. |

| I currently have a 2014 1 ton Ram with 8,000 miles. Bought it in April with 700 miles. Got a heck of a deal, paid under 40 for it.
Before that we had an 08 1 ton Ram , traded it off only because of the deal we got on our new truck. That one had 138,000 miles and was still going strong. In the 4 years we owned that truck the only money we spent was on oil changes. This is the truck that made me a Cummins fan. If only we could have afforded his and her trucks.
Before that had a 2007 3/4 ton 6.0 GMC. Had that truck for 3 years. Got a diesel when I graduated college because prior we wouldn't have been able to afford a diesel.
And then the first truck my now husband had, that we kept until it died was a 1996 Ford f250 with a 460 engine. This was a 2500 GAS truck. Died at 300,000 miles. Transmission went out before the engine!
We currently pull with a 3 horse living quarters, 8 ft wide, 12 ft. shortwall. The new truck hauls like nothing is even back there when fully loaded.
ETA Just saw you don't want insight on rams. Sorry! Love talking trucks. Don't have many girls to talk trucks with.

We have owned every year of dodge from 2002-2012 with the exception of 2006. So we have had our fair share bc a few years we each had a new truck. My 2007 went through 3 turbos and an inner cooler before they replaced the whole thing. My husband's 2007 through a rod at 30k miles. My 2009 ran ok, but only got 4-6mpg with a trailer. His 2012 is broke down and it's a 6k fix. Ugh
I got this ford at a really good deal too and was unsure at first. But I LOVE it. Loaded it will run circles around my husband's 2012 dodge empty. It's been great and I will prob never go back.
I considered the Chevy and have compared the 2016 Chevy to ford. Even test drove a ford to the Chevy dealership and compared them yesterday and I think I'm going back with ford. Hopefully I'll have it next week. :) |

Location: Four Corners Colorado | I had an 01 duramax that had 425,000 miles when I traded up. Only major repair were the injectors at 200,000 and then it got an aftermarket fuel filter and pump. I still see it driving around. I know have two 2006 LBZ durmaxes one with 165,000 and the other with 295,000. No major repairs on either. I love how they pull and drive especially over the passes here. I get 12-16 mpg hauling. I had a huge six horse exiss with mid tack and dressing room and never had an issue hauling it loaded, just don't freak out when you have it in tow haul and it shifts down and you get way high RPM's going down a pass the first time my truck did that I thought my hubby was going to have a heart attack. You have to learn to let a duramax run and drive like it should.
