Location: KS | do you have? I know this is the time of year for being thankful for family, but sometimes I feel like all we do is run run run instead of actually enjoying and being thankful for what we have and enjoying each other. Between my husband and I we have 5 Christmas' (one of them being ours alone). We cut down from the 6 we use to have (my family now only gets together just my brothers and their families) but his family still gets together with his parents' families/siblings. And I wouldn't mind just one of them with his entire family but one side has to get together for Thanksgiving and then again for Christmas. So our Christmas' will start this weekend and we will have them till after New Years. I'm trying really hard to be excited about them, but he has one of those families where there is always a brawl, never fails, but sometimes amusing.
Maybe Im just a scrooge, but really ready for the day when we have maybe 3.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! God Bless!!

| 2 1/2. My husband's family gets together for dinner on Christmas, my mom comes over to our house for lunch, and we exchange our gifts, just the two of us, Christmas morning.
I'm really hoping we have kids, and I can have his family and my mom to come to our house Christmas evening. |

Location: Carpenter, WY | You can run and be thankful at the same time. I can remember doing the same thing when I was first married and young. Unfortunately alot of them have passed and we're down to 1 now. It was a standing joke with my inlaws that it was a good holiday if the police weren't called LOL Here I am years and decades later with stage 4 cancer and looking back they really were good times. Treat each holiday as if it were your last or their last and maybe your heart will feel the blessings, love and goodness that are buried there somewhere. |

So sorry about your illness, and you are so right. We do 3, and sure it can be hectic and crazy and maddening, but cherish it all. Cherish your family (even the extended family that you may not see often). |

| We have narrowed it down to 3. One at our house with immediate family, one at my familys, and one at my husbands. Also, we simplified things this year by not buying gifts for adults. Only the children get presents. This alleviates so much stress on the "grown-ups" this time of year. We can actually enjoy the true meaning of the season. Plus every adult we know has everything, or buys themselves all the things they want anyway. |

Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | We do the everyother year thing. My family is in Utah and his is in Texas. When we are at my side of the family we do 3. All the kids gather at my moms Christmas morning and open presents. We then go to my dad parents and have breakfast and open presents and then go to my moms parents for dinner.
When we are with his family we have 1. |

Location: Tx | We have 6. I love them all but it can be stressful making sure we are all at the right place at the right time, dressed appropriately for that family occasion (some are more formal than others), and we brought what we were told to bring food wise. My husband is usually not very helpful during the holidays so it all is left up to me. We do lunch the Sunday before with our church family, then dinner with my mother-in-laws side of the family, Christmas Eve with my father-in-laws side of the family for lunch, then a light dinner with just my in-laws, Christmas morning with just my household, then Christmas afternoon with ALL of my family. We love it but it can get confusing and expensive with so much travel. |

Location: North Dakota | One. Maybe 2. I have very little extended family and they are 1000 miles away so we don't bother going back to see them. It's just me, my parents, and my sister here (and she is only 16 so it's not like she has her own family). My boyfriends family is abandoning him for Christmas this year (he has to work) so he's just doing Christmas with my family. I'm sure in the future we'll have to do two-one with my family and one with his. |

Location: Florida.. | We used to run to 3 or 4 on same day or the eve of with my boys and it was so tiring and difficult.. but now that they are grown I miss it all..lots of extended kids and family and would take all day on my ex hubbys side.. and the kids would fight and the adults were loud and Id crawl into a corner lol.. but I miss it . now we have one .. all of us at my parents.. my grandboys still have to run.. since parents are divorced .. but it works out.. last year we bought for the kids but the adults made the gifts and it was really cool. This year we drew names and secret santa is bringing the adult the gift.. this way its not the money or gifts its about but Jesus and family spending time together.. its more special.. |

I can see you making sure everyone is taken care of and has a "home" for Christmas; from our texting I can tell you're such a sweet person. |

Awww, thank you so much. At my house no one goes hungry. If there are folks in the barn area needing a meal they know where to come. |
