Stirrups for foot and ankle pain and cramping?

I have nerve problems in my ankles and feet that make riding for even short periods really painful. I even have a painful time walking but I just have to grit my teeth. What are the best stirrups to provide so relief where I can ride again?

I ride in slanted stirrups. Much easier on my knees. Not sure if that would help with ankles. Good luck!

I broke my ankle back in 2011, the only ones that don't hurt are my crooked stirrups. I have 3 pair, at least 1 pair is the knock off brand and you can't tell a difference in them.

I have the orginal crooked stirrups. 2 pairs ... made in Hico, Tx.... my ankle and knee problems have stopped... and I did try the knock off's and they didn't even come close to helping to stop the pain.

The original crooked stirrups... Any issues with them slipping because there isn't a tread?

I put a 3M non-slip tape in the tread of my stirrups. I seldom loose stirrups with a 3" tread and the non-slip tape.

I just bought a pair of slanted knock offs because of an ankle injury this fall. I also have knee problems when I ride a lot. I have no other experience with slanted stirrups other than these and they sure did help. I wasn't willing to put out $200 to find out I didn't like them> But actually doubt I will ever put out $200 no matter what. I would suffer through the pain for that much money. I know ot all of them are that expensive but i stop at about $50.

If you can afford to have someone make you some fenders out of chap leather it will allow your stirrups to turn for your feet a lot easier. And if your cramping I suggest taking 400mg of Magnesium. I had this on my old saddle and I love it. I too have screws in my ankle from a broken leg.

I either wrap with duck tape sticky side out or vet wrap.

I second what most have already said. Slanted stirrups with the rubber grips on the bottom. I have a nerve issue in my left knee and a huge knot on my right ankle from a sprain a few years ago and I will never ride in any other stirrups again.

There are days I swear prosthetic feet would be easier to deal with . . that's how bad my feet hurt after any length on them, or riding.
I got slanted stirrups on my 2013 trophy saddle and love, love, love them. I can't say my feet don't hurt at all, but riding in that saddle does not make them hurt more than they already do. Show days hurt from all the walking around, but riding used to make them worse. Now riding can be neutral on them.
