What are some good bloodlines for appaloosas? Specifically racing/performance/foundation lines.

Would love to see your appaloosa pics too!

This is the horse I bought last spring. I was told he was the leading App race horse in the country as a 3yr old. I have his race record but it does not say WHAT place he finished and at least several of them where mixed futurities according to what I found online.

I REALLY like him! He has been started on barrels and really hunts them. Does not ride like a race track broke horse at all. Whether that is due to hid nature or the guy I got him from I cannot say.

Sorry, I am a technotard and cannot post pics but if you get ahold of some App papers, he looks like the horse in the background, so much so I really had to study the pic to make sure it WASN'T him, lol.

Unfortunately he has ripped a shoe off of his tiny front foot, leaving nothing to nail a shoe to so am waiting for it to grow out and NOT be ouchy before I can start riding him again. I got to haul him to some rodeos this summer but mostly ran my mare so I have not made much progress with him since I got him. I HOPE he makes a jam up rodeo horse because I like him SO much that I DON'T want to sell him.

What are the best places to look for appys bred this way? I have come across a few but not bred the way I would like.

Both of the ones that have been posted are very nice.

You can try Facebook. There are a couple Appaloosa For Sale groups. I recently posted a nice 5 year old appaloosa barrel prospect in them and have had some good interested and a lot of traffic on the site.

This is a true 1D horse that runs all over the southeast. She is solid black, but has appy papers. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/eyes+fast+as+you

If you want to add speed and maybe color ... WITH INTENT is the one .. barrel mares may get a discount...

https://www.facebook.com/WithIntentAppaloosa/photos/a.17146174021079...

There are just a couple of horse races where the field has to be all appaloosa's ..

Appy's and Paints run in what is labeled as mixed races so they can try to garner a field of 10 which is normal. Both of these color breeds associations have really screwed themselves with all the color ... non-color BS they promote at the association ... both associations are in dire financial trouble due to the antics and constant rule changes by their staff........ the number of breeders and registrations each year continue a downward spiral .... SHAMEFUL!!

If you want to fill your eyes with color ...
google ... click images.... type in Appaloosa stallions at stud

Be careful a lot of them are halter horses .. lol

This is a homozygous LPLP stallion. He does not have the racing pedigree, but very well built with a nice mane and tail for an almost all appy pedigree. I like his hip and nice deep hock and appears to have a lot of bone.

Thoughts?? He is in Canada.

The colt in my profile picture is by Troubled Memories. Trouble has since passed, but you can find his get for sale sometimes. The yellow colt was one of the nicest babies I've ever been around. He's in PA now and big, beautiful, and incredibly smart.

You should check with Bryell Mulligan of Pride Farms (home of Lions Share of Fame). They have a couple appy mares they breed to LSOF, and the foals are phenomenal!
