Looks to me like it would pinch the crap out of your leg. I don't jump on new ideas too quickly. If it ain't broke don't fix.

I have been with out my own saddle for a few months. I have just been borrowing my mothers. But now I'm finally in a position to get my own again. I have ridden in the regular corriente barrel saddle and was please with it, so I figured if a ton of people like the in seat rigging might as well here there opinion while my options are still open ..

This set up has been around for a long time nothing new, if the saddle is built right there should be no pinching, I rode in one many years ago {not a corriente}  but another brand cant remember what it was but never pinched.

In seat rigs have been around for ages, mostly in ranch saddles though. Guys that ranch on lots of colts tend to like them because you can get your leg up over the point of the shoulder easy with the in seat rig.

So what I understand with the in seat rigging, you have more control over where your leg goes, and it's easier to move your leg around. I think that the Corriente ones will set your leg a little more forward rather than just right under you by looking at the pictures. And I haven't heard of them pinching!

Thank you! I didn't know that was what you called that! I've been in horses for 10+ years, and this is the first year I have seen a saddle set up like that.

Seat rig saddles are used a lot by day workers and colt trainers. It frees up the leg to move forward and allows the rider to get over the top of the shoulder should a horse get "ranchy" with you. Gives you more room to spur.
If the saddle is made correctly and has fine leather you won't be pinched.
Most dayworkers ride in a strip down seat rig association saddle and say it's the most comfortable and lightest, yet strongest saddle you can have. I would agree.
Seat rigs can be made by any maker on any tree for any reason. It frees up your feet to swing freely much like that of an english saddle. There is little bulk under your legs and your fenders are almost always skinnier. Again, less bulky. I love these saddles and have owned many for roping.
Something to consider if you purchase one, if you like to be on top of your hips more, it will swing you backward if you aren't carefull. If you know how to use your legs, and know how to sit down in a turn, you won't have any problems.
Barrel racers are only just now realizing they exist ;

I have wanted to try a seat rigged saddle forever!! You see tons of them at the ranch rodeos. I like the idea and concept behind them. I know a lot of people that ride colts for a living the swear by them.

I ordered the exact saddle pictured above it should be done around the end of the month, I ordered the in seat rigging because I figured it would allow me to get my legs a little more forward so I can sit a little deeper if one of my colts got a little rank or for a hard turning horse. Plus it just looks really ranchy lol

I have a seat rig I won last fall. I love it. I love the freedom in my legs the most. I can tell you, if the saddle is too small it will pinch you or at least that has been my experience. I never had a problem with pinching until I gained 15 pounds over the winter. With those extra pounds it was pinching me. I lost the weight and it doesn't pinch anymore.

wanted to bump this up.

Also is it just me or do the newer saddles look like the horn is slightly shorter? I really like a taller horn so their average horn was already holding me back, but now the newer saddles look like it might be even shorter??? Or is it just me? I have debated ordering one of their cutters with a 4" cantle and inseat rigging just because the cutter horn is a little taller then their barrel... lol

They can build on any tree... Any saddle maker can...
All you do is call them, say I want this exact saddle with a 4" horn and they have it made.

When I directly asked them about the horn they said the longest barrel saddle can be 3" horn, and 3.75" on the cutter.....
