I have a weanling filly by him and she is darn nice. I've drooled over him for years and I am NOT a paint fan. He has produced a few really nice futurity/derby/open horses up in this area (MN). and Grant and Erin are AWESOME! |

Location: Feeding those that need me | Thanks for thinking of us! Shannon and I, at Lone Star Performance Horses, have worked really hard to aquire some really nice stallions for our 2014 line-up. We are very proud of what we have to offer, and look forward to this breeding season with our boys.
However, if you decide that one of our stallions is not for you, I really like the looks of Awesome Chrome and A Dash of Color. Both are double registered (overos) so if you are looking for tobiano, they aren't for you. :)

Oh, thanks! Kind of you to mention Money - he is indeed a wonderful old horse and he crosses really well on Dash For Cash bred mares.
Here's what I'd do if I was shopping for a Paint stud these days and wanted to make it easy. Go to this page:
http://apha.com/pbrip
It explains the Paint barrel incentive program. Clear at the bottom there's a link to the stallions in the auction for this year.
http://apha.com/docs/default-source/performance/2014-pbrip-stallion...
I assume this list will grow as people gets their forms in - especially slow people like me! (Actually, I needed this reminder.)
Whether you want to bid in the auction or not, this is a good place to find a list of the better end of the Paint studs out there. That's one of the side benefits, I think, of the program. There have always been some good, good Paint speed studs out there but holy cow . . . you had to know where to look! This at least collects up a good percentage of them in one place and just the existence of that list is a very good thing.
There's still a bunch of good ones that aren't listed. There's Judy's Lineage who is past the point where he needs to be giving away breedings for exposure. Lots of others too. I'm sure some of them will be added as time goes on.
And since I don't have to be politically correct . . . I'll just say it. Breed to a tobiano, not a cropout. |

Location: Way up North | I have a four year old by Strait Firewater; and a yearling filly and a weanling gelding by A Dash of Color. LOVE them all! No complaints and both stallions threw color when crossed on my solid mare. They all have disticntly different personalities but very smart and trainable. |

Concerning the PBRIP Stallion "List". This list is not put together by the APHA/PBRIP instead it is a list of stallions that the owners have agreed to donate the $$ from the stud fee during the Auction. The stallion owner's are also having to obsorb other farm & chute fees that they should not have to do. It does represent SOME but NOT ALL race-bred Paint stallions, only those whose owners are willing to donate the breeding plus obsorb expenses they normally would not have to. |

Thanks, girl! His name is Doctor Frost and we are very proud of him! I don't know if I can post pictures on BHW yet because I haven't had a chance to put his ad up on here. I need to do that this week....
But you can always drool over him on the website! :) |
