My baby (due Feb 6th) has been measuring ahead since he was big enough to measure. I'm 31 weeks exactly today and they measured him via ultrasound at 33w3d. My belly measured 35.5 cm. Said he weighs 4lbs 13oz. At 29 weeks they said he was in 70th percentile for weight and now he's in the 80th. No gestational diabetes or any other problems.

I went in today for regular check-up. Doc measured me and I told him I had cramped a bit Tuesday night so he sent me over for cervical ultrasound. That was still measuring fine. Closed up and the length it was supposed to be.

Who's been told they're having a jumbo baby and ended up having a regular sized one? Or who's been told they're having a large baby and it was? You can see his chubby cheeks on the 4D scans.  I've only gained about 25lbs so far

My baby boy weighed 10 lbs. The dr. told me all along he was going to be a big baby and that was before ultrasounds.

My son ended up weighing 10lbs 7oz.... At my ultrasound at 20 weeks to find the gendor he measured normal. When they did my belly measurements they always measured a bit bigger than normal. On my due date they did a ultrasound and he was showing in the 9lb range and the doctor was concerned I wouldn't be able to deliver him with out them breaking his collar bones so of course I opted for a c-section. Good Choice!!! Big Babies run on my dads side of the family though.

I'm 5'1 and was about 105lbs pre-pregnancy. I'm also all belly now. Was really not wanting a c-section but I'm not sure how big of a baby I can push out. Right now they're saying at least 8lbs so it's not terrible but if he keeps growing like this! They measured him at 3.5lbs at 29weeks so he's gained over a pound in the past 2 weeks

At 37 weeks, they measured my son at 8+ lbs. They were worried then because my hips are narrow and I'm not very big. I was induced at 39 weeks due to WAY too much amniotic fluid (still don't know why). They were thinking then he would be 9+ lbs. My son ended up being 6 lbs., 8 oz.

Predictions were 10+ for my daughter.  She had the bones for it, and then some.  But because I am so short waisted (my 5' friend and I are the same length from shoulder to hip, I'm 5'7") I think I restricted her length.  She was just under 8 pounds, and only 18 inches long.  At birth, her fingertips touched my palm calouses, and I have big hands.

My daughter measured big all the way through... they told me her estimated birth weight was around 9 lbs! I was terrified. She entered this world a normal 7 lbs 12 oz! WHEW!

I've heard much more often that people are told 1 pound more or less than what they deliver at. I never really knew, but I know I generally measure small. I'm tall, 5'9ish, I don't know if I spread it out? With my 2nd daughter they were concerned due to my measurements, but she was 7lbs 12oz. My first daughter was 8lbs 2oz. Then with my son, the 3rd, I wasn't measuring big, but he was 9lbs 12oz. I think in the end they estimate they gain 1/2lb every week? Really though, it is what it is, babies are hard to estimate, although they try!

Even the ultrasound tech is saying that he's one of the bigger ones she's seen lately. Guess we'll know for sure when he pops out.
He's either camera shy or likes to show off his "big guns" because he always has his hands and arms up in his face

I tried to have my son naturally but when I pushed we lost his heart beat.  It was too stressful on him so we did an emergency C section.  My first baby weighed 9 pounds when she was born naturally.  11  3 ounces was just a tad too big.  The C section was no big deal.  I chose to not have any more children after my last.

lol When we went for our gender sono, every time the sono tech would try to look at something a hand would show up. She would try to get her to move around so she could see the heart, but she wouldn't move. So the tech would go to look at a different part of the body and here comes a hand! lol Even had a hand and 2 feet showing at one time. It took forever because those hands kept getting in the way.

My son wasn't big. almost 9 lbs (looking at the other posts, kind of makes him look small lol)

61 hours of labour, anything that could go wrong did.

Neadless to say I only have one child, not the three that we originally wanted.

I love my son and he was worth it all.

Good luck with your baby.

C sections are really easy way to have a baby! I have 3 in the ten pound club. I am a small person and had no health issues. Guess I ate too much protein cause I lived on steak! My babies were born healthy and very strong more like 3 month old instead of new born!

I am 5'6" and normally 125lb-ish. My babies were 9lb5oz, 8lb11oz, and 9lb4oz.
Obviously, the first labor was the longest/most difficult. But, all were born vaginally without complications. I was told with all three that they were measuring average (7 1/2 lbs).
The bad thing about having a big baby is that they have to prick their tiny toes every couple of hours to check their blood sugar. Otherwise, I loved it and wouldn't know what to do with a "normal" sized baby!

Don't worry! You will do just fine!!!

Here's a few pics from my 29 week scan. I got more today but they're on my desk.
