| I went to my first barrel race in 15 years and only exhibitioned, but wow, I had fun. I was way more successful in my small goals than I ever dreamed and there several BBs to thank. The problem is I can't remember their board names, but I hope they might read this.
First, a big thank you to all the women who have been posting about returning to competition after years of not competing. Your honesty about the process was so important to me. I realized if I believed I could then I could. So much easier said than done.
Next, someone was asking about how to overcome nerves and someone else posted about a book that had really helped them, With Winning In Mind. Man, let me tell you that book really helped me with my preparation. Thank you so much for sharing that book.
I also used some essential oils that I believe helped.
I am so thankful for my friend who is letting me relearn on an amazing mare that is the perfect horse to challenge me.
This board can be so amazing- praying for people, helping people, advising people. I am thankful for this site, too.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE ON THIS SITE.

Location: NE Texas | Yay!!!! Congrats to you, GLP! That is fantastic! Doesn't it feel great to be back in the game! I'm so happy for you and thrilled that you had a great time.
Isn't this board a great place. I tell ya, I have met some great people on here who i'm proud to call my closest friends. We laugh together, cry together, and BHW has just been a huge blessing to me in so many ways!
Thank you for mentioning that book again, I had meant to write it down last time and order it but totally forgot. Now let's keep this party going!!!!! So proud of you and happy for you, GLP! Go get em!!!!! |

Location: NE Texas | Way to go! I'm in a similiar boat and I've met a few people on here that are just incredible people! I don't know what I would do w/out having other good-minded horse people to bounce things off of (you may not always like the feedback, there is usually something to take away from each comment, even if you don't want to hear it (grows thicker skin, hehe)).
Kudos to getting back in the saddle and I enjoy reading everyone's post, especially those just getting back into it such as myself - it's just good ole fun! Giddy up!!! |
