I'm looking at upgrading my smartphone. I've had it for 2 years, it is a Samsung S3 Mini, and I love it, but it is getting so slow and won't allow me to download more apps without taking some other apps off (I'm out of memory/storage). I don't even have that many apps, so I definitely need a smartphone with more storage! I'd like to try an Iphone as my brother has had them for a few years and really likes them, and I've used his and it is so fast! But I'm also really comfortable with my Samsung. So, I'm looking at either an Iphone 5S or a Samsung S5 (possibly S6), would love to know which one you guys like better or prefer. I have a budget I have to stay within, so that makes the latest models out of the question, unfortunately. Thanks much!

I absolutely hated having an android phone. I LOVE my iphone and am now on #4. Once you learn the app store, it makes going back to an android harder. But, if you like the android apps and features, you may not like an iphone.

My step-daughter works for T-mobile and she told me the same thing. I had to pick a droid or an iphone for work and she said since I was used to the droid platform. I probably would be more comfortable staying with a droid.

I was always a droid user, many many years.  Finally my last upgrade I switched to an iphone.  Have had it since June 2015.  I'm not real techy to begin with.  It did take me some time to get use to the iphone but once I got use to it overall I've liked it better.  Its not as customizable as the droids, but its very user friendly once you mess with it a little and I've had way less problems with it.

iPhone.  I'd never return to android even if the phone was free and my service was paid for.  Easy to use, DOESN'T crash, does what you say, and Siri is pretty helpful.

Iphone blows Andriod out of the water. I've had both and I'll never go back to an Andriod. Iphone is incredibly user friendly.

I was an Driod fan all the way, then my SO talked me into getting an iPhone in November.  I will not go back to a driod.  I have the 6s and I love it.

I upgraded from the 6 to the 6S. I didn't think there would be that much of a difference, but holy cow... yes there is. The 6S is hands down the best Iphone I've had. I'd be lost without the features.

My SO had the 5s I believe.  He didn't really want to upgrade but did when I did.  He loves the 6S.  It is bigger and he is getting older so it is easier for him to read all his emails on.

IPhone may be easier for some, but android interacts with pc so much easier. I had iPhone for years, but now have an android, and it works great.

I went the other way from most people (heh... story of my life). I had androids for years then got the iPhone 6 when it came out. It was fine but I hated being locked down and not being able to change certain things. The kicker was iMessage. I turned it on when I first got it because I liked getting texts on my iPad BUT it uses data to send it instead of the phone signals. And my office has very little data coverage so I couldn't get or send texts all day long. Then when I went to switch it back to regular texts, it wouldn't let me! I went straight to the Verizon store and bought myself a Samsung.

The trick with Androids, at least in my experience, is to buy a nice one. There are lots of cheap Androids out there that will drive you crazy because they're so freakin' slow. If you buy a higher end one (I have a Galaxy S6), the speeds are comparable to the iPhone. Also, most Androids you can put a SD card in and have more storage.

Β  Thanks very much for all the good information! The smartphone I have now is the first smartphone I've had and I'm very happy with, it's just like computers when they get old is they get shot, our at least that is what I notice. The battery life on this one has been great (not a fan of Motorola's for that reason, had one that was a flip phone and went thru 3 batteries) and so am looking for something that I can charge while I sleep and be good for the whole day. That's one thing I noticed when looking at iPhones is they have less battery life than the Samsung, is that true? Thanks again!

I haven't had a battery issue with my iphone. I charge it every night. Right now it's 3:33 where I am and I unplugged mine off the charger at 5am. I still have 70% battery.

Awesome! Good to know! I just read what is on the internet about the phone itself.

I had an Android for about 2 years. It was constantly not working properly. I got ride of it. Will stick with my iPhone. Had to have the first one replaced under warranty -- then after about 4 months the second one crapped out.

I had a 4s and it was old. Probably about September a coworker talked me into a droid, I hated it! Loved the camera. I have had my iPhone back for a few weeks absolutely love it!!!

I had a Samsung Ace x or something, hated it! crashed, had 2GB of storage, was slower than molasses and was just a terrible phone. But I think that was the worst phone on the market at the time! So when I switched to iPhone it was a major improvement. I have a 5S and love it! It has a decent camera, lots of storage, I've had it for almost a year and it's still super fast! Battery life is good depending what you use it for. If I play music on it all day at work it drains pretty fast but for regular use it lasts me all day.  I would recommend an iPhone because of my experience with it and will definatley get on again
