| I"m looking for an ulcer prevent, I just treated for 28 days with Ulcerguard, and would really like to know besides free choice hay, what to feed daily or if anyone has seen or proven results with Equisure? CAn this take the replacement of using ulcerguard on the days of hauling/competing? If so, any dealers on here?
I've tride OxyMax pellets last season, I feel it didn't help prevent ulcers on my one mare. Was thinking of trying Gastroplex pellets from MVP but maybe that's a waste of $$ too?
Any suggestions on Equisure or anything please advise thanks!! |

| I had one I did the 28 days of gastrogard on and during that time also fed the oxymax. After a week of being off the gastrogard he started the picky eating again. I had a few people recommend THE gastroplus and figured I would try it! It has truly been a life saver and much cheaper than the gastrogard! I would recommend it to anyone! |

Location: Northern California | Equi-Sure has made a huge difference in my 3 year old!! Every time I would haul her, her poop would turn to water. 10cc's of Equi-Sure and we are back to normal!! Ulcer meds work as long as they are given but seem more of a bandaid rather than fixing the problem. Really like the results I have had w Equi-Sure!! |

| Yes, it's great! I use it when hauling to prevent ulcers, and at home when one goes off feed and have seen definite results. I am a dealer and have some on hand if you need :) |

I've got one with the same problem. When do you give the 10 cc's? Thanks! |

Location: run2win land | When first using equi-sure make sure its for 7-10 days in a row. I use it then before putting mine in the trailer to go to race. If already at race I give when saddling. It is an amazing product. This product does not require specific timing. Oh and dose is 10ml. Use the syringe they gave you to put on tongue.

| I put my husbands gelding on GastroPlex after having a rough weekend at a 3 day race. He looked like he lost a ton of weight over the weekend, was having gate issues - he is like a new horse after being on GastroPlex for these last 2 1/2 months.
MVP offers a 60 day money back guarantee on their products too, so there's nothing to lose by trying it! |

Location: North Dakota | A friend of mine who I have hauled with to a few runs, loves it! She gives it to her horses every morning when she is hauling to keep their bellies happy and keep them drinking. She has replaced the ulcerguard with the equisure in her program. Her horses look great and always eat and drink on the road. She had me try it on my mare back in October at a run when my mare wasn't drinking good that weekend and just seemed off. I think it did help her to start drinking more that weekend. We still ended up with a load of health issues but those were festering before that weekend.
The smell of it was awful though ... my mare didn't like it but if it works.. it is worth it. |

Location: SW North Dakota | I've used it since 2012. We're lucky to have horses that eat and drink well on the road, and don't have any known problems with ulcers. I'm sure that's part luck, part genetics and part management, but I also think it's partly due to Equi-sure.
I've had the most noticable results with very nervous horses. It REALLY helps them relax. It's no substitute for training, but if you have a horse that has anxiety when hauling, I'd highly recommend trying it! |

Location: North Dakota | I love the results. My horse would get very loose stools when hauled. Started giving him the equisure the day prior to hauling, each day that I'm gone, as well as the day after I return home, and his stools were immediately normal. I won't travel without it. |

Location: London Ontario | Those on Equisure - I am looking to give it two my two horses come the spring. I will start both on 10 ML per day for 10 days then the website recommend 1-2 times per week at 10ml dosages. Do you do two dosages a week? If so when? Do you space them out evenly or just give the dose before they get on the trailer? Can you give it more then once a day? For example once when they get on the trailer then once while tacking up? |

| Can someone explain to me what's in it that actually works for ulcer prevention? AFter reading the list, seems to me lots of vegetable oil. I already feed either Healthy Coat or the Oxygen Mega Oil all year round. |

| Its main active ingredient is colloidal silver which is a natural disinfectant and antibiotic. It works by neutralizing and buffering the acid in the stomach and raising the pH to a level that allows the stomach to heal itself. When the acid is buffered is has a calming effect on the horse as well as boast appetite and water consumption. A healthy stomach makes for a healthy horse, boasting the immune system tremendously. Any time a horse is stress they produce excess cortisol which causes ulcers.

Location: Texas | My horse gets ulcer upsets all the time. He got to where he was not wanting to go in the gate either. Would bite and kick at me when saddling or even just walking by him. I put him on the EquiSure and he changed almost immediately. I did the loading dose and I now give him 5 cc's every morning, except on race days when he gets 10 cc's. He will walk right on in the gate now and is running at least a 1/2 second faster consistently.
My young horse does not have any ulcer issues but I feed her 10 cc's on race days. I also give it any time we have severe weather changes. My horses eat and drink great and have not had any belly issues with our crazy weather this year. |

I think the best route is to dose every time you catch them to ride. When I tie mine up to saddle them I give a dose, that is kind of in my routine like brushing them down now. Most of us ride 3 days a week and haul on the weekend so give it 3 days a week and then when you haul somewhere give a dose then as well. You can give it more than once a day if need be, its not going to hurt them by anymeans, you can give a 40ml dose to one that is colicing to get there stomach moving again, so 10mls twice in one day every now and then will not have any adverse effect. |

I use this routine.
My ulcer horses get 5cc/day
EVERYTHING gets 10cc/day on the road.
My futurity horse is also on 5cc/day just to help him adjust to the new routines in his life.
Anything that gets a little hot or nervous to ride gets 5-10cc when I saddle.
I literally keep a 250ml bottle in my farm jacket ALL the time. I can't count the times it's come in handy. Often in the frigid temps up here a few of them will act a little off and not want to eat their ration. Dose of equisure has them back digging in within 10 minutes. If I could only have one supplement for the rest of my life -- it would be this one. |
