Sale Fitting

Does anyone have any experience and/or knowledge of how to "sale fit" a horse? I have a two year old that I am considering consigning to the Texas Best Barrel Futurity Sale in November. Wondering what all is involved and how I would go about sale fitting him instead of hiring someone else to do it. I'm not 100% convinced that it would be worth consigning him to the sale because of the $400 consignment fee, 7% commission and 5% pass out. Looking at the past sale results, some went good and others not so good. I've just never done anything like this before. And I am not willing to just let the horse go for cheap, but if he would bring a decent price at the sale I would be happy. Any thoughts, suggestions, experiences? Thanks

We sell most of ours as Yearlings through race sales. A two year old is going to have different expectations placed on it than the age we usually sell. That said, you need a solid 45-60 days of prep that includes grooming, good feed, etc.
